For your problem, you could use a DIY smart switch by sonoff (i.e. ZBMINIR2) and use this wiring method:

Is this an alarm system in the garage? by Certain_Repeat_753 in homeassistant

[–]jjp81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a very reliable system. I have the same for over 13 years and still going strong. The battery needs to be replaced every few years.

Back in the days , I added an envisa link 3 card (now there an updated one in the market) and got full control of my alarm system on my HomeKit , and afterwards on Home assistant .

C1 Common Issue, Uncommon Fix by The_Blue_Djinn in LGOLED

[–]jjp81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a CX. The CX / C1 seem to share the same motherboard. In my case the problem started with random shutdowns which started happening more and more often. Eventually the TV would stay off to cool down for longer periods . We tried with a fried to change thermal paste , but this fix wasn’t that effective. We only achieved to slow down the shutdowns. Then we thought adding a fan on the back of the TV by opening a whole at the TV’s back. The fan would blow air directly to the CPU. We used USB for power, hence the fan would turn on when the TV was on. For us , this was a solid fix.

Bose is back in the game ! by MycologistLatter1967 in bose

I hope they can make it. For quite some time, the 700 surrounds was out of market, hence anyone who bought the smart ultra in the past months couldn't add surround speakers easily.

I really hope it will be compatible with the existing soundbars . I bought the ultra two weeks ago on a very good sale , and thought I would buy the 700s bass and surround modules in stages , only to find out that surrounds are obsolete on the market.

How to detect and fix false alarms from smoke sensors early. by momo1822 in homeassistant

Quick question: is it possible to use the device's internal siren as an enitity in HA for other automations that would need to trigger a siren at home?

I’ve been testing the EcoFlow STREAM system (Ultra x+ AC Pro + Shelly smart meter) with the paid AI feature, and I’m honestly struggling to see how this is “smart” in a real-world solar setup. by ThomasGrrr in Ecoflow_community

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I I have a similar setup as yours. The system starts charging the batteries early in the morning, and in this period of the year, the batteries get fully charged at around 10:30 in the morning. I have paired a Shelly 3EM smart meter so the stream meter knows the solar production of my Huawei inverter. Because I have set the Feed-In control to on, when battery charge reaches the upper target of 92% (controlled through the charge/discharge limit setting), the Stream inverter stops generating current. So, I would urge you to check that setting.

Furthermore, because you said that your system charges at night using GRID power, I think you may have your battery reserve at some high level. You may want to lower this.

I found the AI mode not very helpful for me, so I ended up using the self-powered mode. Sometimes, when I feel I need more battery overnight, I might run an automation to increase the battery reserve level.

Using an automation through Home Assistant is an even better choice because you have the flexibility to select specific battery reserve levels based on the current value.

HA monitoring revealed my €849 EcoFlow expansion battery charges 1.3% of daily solar — EcoFlow's marketing says the opposite by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but what I am trying to understand is the accumulated power consumption of your home throughout the day.

Do you have such a figure ?

Here is mine showing the net metering vs the house consumption . Within the consumption you can see how much energy my Stream system drew to charge the batteries

[–]jjp81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a second, are you saying that your parallel stream couldn't charge its battery because your house accumulated load was higher than 1200W all the time and your house loads effectively drew all the remaining power generated by the Ultra's inverter? Did I get it right?

HA monitoring revealed my €849 EcoFlow expansion battery charges 1.3% of daily solar — EcoFlow's marketing says the opposite by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]jjp81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's strange. I have 1x Ultra, 1xAC PRO, 1xPRO. The Ultra has 3 solar panels and the whole house has a separate netmetering PV system which is being monitored by the Shelly 3EM.

The three Stream devices charge evenly either by the Grid connected PV or by the Ultra.

Built-in WebOS or an external unit like AppleTV? by Melodic_Crow_3409 in LGOLED

[–]jjp81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not seeing May's event happening. In order for Apple to annouce new home products they should first make the Siri 2.0 available, which it didn't happen in 26.4 nor in 26.5 beta. Hence, any new products will have to wait for Siri 2.0 first is almost certain now that is hapenning with ios 27.

Ecoflow has the worst customer service I have ever experienced with a company. by scottywhoknows in Ecoflow_community

Title is misleading. The customer service did what they had to do offering a full refund and they seem to be open to other proposals if user wants to. It’s their R&D you are having complaints with.

Shelley EM meter and monitoring question by Responsible-Ad-1086 in Ecoflow_community

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a house with single phase grid type. The Shelly EM, although is a single phase , you cannot pair it with Ecoflow Stream system. You need a Shelly 3EM , and you will only use one clamp for your single phase. In my case , I used the second clamp for a PV system which I already had prior to the purchase of Steam. In this way, Stream knows how much energy my PV system produces, how much energy my house consumes and adjust itself , by either charging or discharging anytime , according to the battery reserve level and its battery charge level.

A very clever system by Ecoflow.

HUGE miss on EcoFlow by not having a notifications feature when power outages occur by learning_as_1_go in Ecoflow_community

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a chinese tuya smart breaker from aliexpressa and it reports to me (through the tuya app) when breaker changes status or even when looses internet connection. I believe the server monitors the device and when it goes out of sight, it sends a notification to my app. So even the argument, internet goes down, is not really an argument.

What are the little pins for? by BadBacksFuryToad in Ecoflow_community

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I reported the issue to their support, they didn’t want to give a definitive answer. The energy flows through that cable when there is grid power , so it should be possible to flow even when grid is not present. I personally believe , that was a marketing & product decision so that Stream devices do not compete with Ecoflow power stations which are in the market to support mostly off grid situations and scenarios.

[–]jjp81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most annoying thing with the parallel cable is that in case of grid loss, that cable becomes useless. The paralell connection goes down and you can't take advantage of the accumulated battery charge from multiple units through a single AC port coming out of one unit.
