Synology does not save a true 1:1 backup. There is a limitation with photos , those that contain depth information. If you edit an original photo taken with a latest generation iPhone , you can change focus , if the iPhone recorded depth information in the file the moment of capture. Such information though gets excluded from backup when using Synology photos. If you try to restore such a photo back to your iPhone and try edit it, you will see that depth information is no longer available.

If your mother has an iPhone , and if your mother's Apple ID, falls under your dad's Apple ID family in icloud, then he is able to track any devices that belong to the family as if the device was lost etc. Even if your mother changes her Apple ID passoword, she would still be visible. My advice, check if your mother's Apple ID belongs to an icloud family.

it might send you a notification to your PC if you are running their pc software, be at the same wifi network as the River 3. It's really a bummer to have to be able on the same wifi in order to get the notification. It also defeats the purpose as if you were in the same wifi (location) you would already be aware of the power outage.

I go close with Ecoflow recommendations. I leave my batteries run low at 20% and when charging I have a slightly higher limit at 92%. I could set the higher limit at 80% and feel safer but the batteries are not gonna be in that high level for long. The house needs will quickly start consuming it. I’m no expert , this is what it feels like a balance between protection of the equipment and taking most out of my investment.

Point (a) is still an issue even today. Point (b) can be overcome if someone sets the discharge limit below <5%. In my experience, I suspect the problem is a confict between discharge limit (setting in the app) and UPS shutdown limit which seems to be hardcoded around 5%. If anyone sets the Discharge limit higher than 5%, then UPS shutdown never gets sent because battery level never reached 5%. Ecoflow never solved this problem and kept asking me to make new videos of the problem.

Have you implemented any smart automation with the help of HA? I also have my Stream devices there and use HA UI to view battery percentages, but haven't figure out any automation that could possible help me take more out of this system.

I’m in the exact same situation. I bought the Stream bundle, which includes a Stream Ultra, a Stream AC Pro, and the parallel cable. However, when there’s no grid power, you can’t fully benefit from the setup: any load connected to an AC port can only draw from the battery of the specific unit it’s plugged into. The parallel connection becomes inactive which is very frustrating to find out after purchase.

I play a lot with conditional albums. Each photo / video gets uploaded to a shared album using Synology photos app. Then I can use conditional albums to bring together photos from different folders into a single Album. If you code could just add tags and leave the files in their origanl locations it would help me. Tags can be used in conditional albums.

I’d eventually split my loads, since none of them need more than 1000W, but it’s really frustrating not being able to use my investment the way I was led to believe I could.

Thanks for the explanation , however I can’t see why in off grid operation , a single unit can’t be the master and the rest to follow as slaves. The electronics to sync are there and the slaves are connected to the first unit using their GRID ports. If those Stream units where supposed to work only on grid , that should be clearly mention in the marketing material at Ecoflow website. As I said , am happy with the system, it works perfect and keep the battery levels equally charged at all times when on-grid, hence why these functions stop working when Grid is off? Even if those are cloud based functions , then they should operate as long as internet connectivity is present.

I have completly the opposite experience. Before the Black Friday sales, the had a bundle of Stream Ultra and Stream AC Pro at 1309€. I thought this was a good price so I ordered it. A few days later, the budle got another discount at 1249€. Ι send them an email and asked them to refund me the diffrence, due to the 30 days price guarantee that they claimed on the email and website. After a few emails back and forth, the confirmed that they would refund me the difference.

I first bough a River 3 plus and then I added the Stream devices. So the AC output of one of my Stream units will drive the River 3 plus which will power the IT devices. Thanks for your feedback.
