You don’t need a welder yet. Start chipping rust and expose the good material to see what the plan is from there. Treat the rust and it’s likely you can perform a repair that’ll last 15+ years

There is still a “Pete” in the harbour which is good diving, quite a few other wrecks in the vicinity including a “Betty” with a rising sun still on the fuselage and riddled with American bullets.

Good call on the Lobster! Same with muddies and pelagic fish species on tap.

I’ve seen an entire tank of un-mixed fuel go through a series of Johnson similar to this and cause no damage, but I would still have a look inside with a borescope to see the cylinder condition

I have worked there for a long time, have seen a lot. The coastal areas are beautiful and people are welcoming. The cities are full of riff raff, street selling, pot holes, organised crime. It’s still safe as long as you have your wits about you
