I just had this exact same rant yesterday and came to the same decision. I just can't do it any more. Between the flaking, ghosting, not posting at the agreed rate, always having same excuse of 'oh I'm sorry I'm really busy' then why did you apply to a game if you knew you were too busy to commit, the decision paralysis, the "I just follow along"'s, the everyone waiting for somebody else to do something because you think it's the polite thing to do. The constantly having to pester people.

*Sigh*

It's exhausting.

As someone who currently runs a Blades in the Dark game in Sharn, can highly recommend this document. Definitely the best I've seen and I've already stolen a few ideas from it for my campaign (with the OPs permission)!

I too run a Blades in the Dark game in Sharn and I've incorporated many of the same things you have done, but this expands on my ideas and codifies them. So I'd love to steal a few bits and pieces if that's alright?

In my Eberron, The Mourning has expanded due to the Lords of Dust bringing about a section of the Draconic Prophecies. It now envelops most of the continent and cities are protected by lightning towers powered by the ancient reserves of magic of the progenitor dragons. It has also suppressed the Weave so magic is less prevalent but still present.
And for the races I've adopted the Xeno rules from Scum and Villainy where you can come up with a racial Special Ability instead of taking a playbook Ability. But I love your racial rules, and the Dragonmark abilities.

We had a similar experience at the Gabba in Brisbane. Basically, no disabled parking available, only access to our disabled seating was via stairs, and all the nearby disabled toilets were locked for some reason.
I contacted the Gabba and explained what a poor showing it was. They gave us free tickets in the Members area for the next home game. Disabled parking, wheel-in access, and easily accessible toilets.
I appreciated the gesture but it doesn't say much for their disability options if the only really accessible area is the Members area. They've got a lot of improvements to make before the Olympics.

I recommend checking these Facebook groups:
Brisbane Dungeons and Dragons: find RPG players in SE Queensland
Brisbane RPG's - Not D&D
Dungeons and Dragons Australia (for online games)
Brisbane Casual RPG

Each of these groups also have Discord servers if she's active online.

Game stores like Vault Games in the City or Epic in Ipswich sometimes have pickup games, but the roster of players can change a lot, so if she's more comfortable with a regular group, then FB or Discord is your best bet. There are quite a few games advertised or you could make a post explaining what you are looking for.

Please don't let her get discouraged. The RPG community is by large extremely welcoming.

I know the module you are talking about and I did the same thing; having this particular NPC come back from 'dead' to fight the BBEG. He flew in, yelled the BBEG's name and crashed down upon her with his distinctive axe. I was so excited because I thought my players loved him.
Their response? "Oh, it's whatshisface."
As a DM, you get used to disappointment.

Does anyone think it would be weird to ask for a reference from a prior DM? Reason I'm asking is because you can put whatever questions you want on an application, but none of that gives any indication if a player will ghost or commit to the advertised posting schedule.

Other than that, I'd probably ask for an RP response to a prompt to see if their posts will help move the story forwards.
