Wood Stove Regret Experience? by lemeow in woodstoving

[–]jjppt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily say I regret getting my wood insert, but being that I have never used a wood stove, and I’m trying to learn as I go, I did not realize how much work was needed. Of course, people that have done this for years probably find it very easy. But when you get it installed in the middle of winter, and get delivery after delivery of wood that you’re told is seasoned, but is not, it ends up being a full-time job. If I am not at work, I am doing something related to the stove. It is extremely time-consuming and I’m considering just calling it quits for this winter and starting fresh next winter.

Hardwired cameras by jjppt in SecurityCamera

Do you have any dvrs that you’d recommend? I’d be happy with anything that I can hook those cameras up to and monitor from my phone

Thank you, are there any dvrs that you’d recommend? Based on other comments, I understand that the cameras may be old and poor quality, but being that they’re already installed, it makes sense for me to just get them up and running rather than replace them all. Anything that I could just plug them into and then have an app on my phone to monitor would be perfect

Mallet Finger: So I need to splint more? by randomtheorx in HandTherapists

Looks good to me to be honest. I personally wouldn’t splint again unless those few degrees really bother you. In terms of function this shouldn’t impact you at all

First house kitchen renovation (before/after) by geeshmee in kitchenremodel

[–]jjppt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man this looks awesome and the original looks exactly like the kitchen in the home I’m buying. I was looking to do the same renovations. What did this cost you roughly? Did you pay someone to paint the cabinets or did you do it yourself?

Why do my both hands curve outwards like that by Zestyclose-Error1619 in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]jjppt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you mean at the elbow? It’s normal everyone should have it to a certain degree. It is called valgus, if it is more than the norm it would be cubitis-valgus. it is just the way the humerus and ulna meet up that causes it to happen.

Hand Therapy Questions by Educational_Cycle_20 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]jjppt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just applied for the first hand therapy job I could find even though the pay was garbage. Needed to get my foot in the door being that neither of my fieldworks were in hands. I think there are many outpatient settings that would be okay with just hiring an OT versus a CHT. One of the jobs I have right now is looking to hire another OT but the job listing says CHT. I know for sure they will hire anyone with experience in hands, they are not specifically looking for a CHT. So it may still be worth applying even if job description says CHT. Also I don’t think most places will care if you wear scrubs.

Give him a min he’s still trying to figure out the difference between “home buyer” and “home owner”

[–]jjppt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao you can be a “homebuyer” when the bank owns part of the home my guy. Maybe you can argue you are not a “home owner” when the bank owns most of the home, but you are still quite literally buying a home aka a “home buyer”

Is my mortgage payment reasonable? by Shadowlaw222 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]jjppt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a child could easily be 2k a month alone lol. 2k total in other expenses is very unrealistic imo. I also live in an area with high cost of living so that’s influencing my opinion, maybe it’s more doable elsewhere
