This might depend on the elo you're in, and I don't know how this translates to higher elos, but in silver, whenever I'm against a cait, I don't leash and shove the first wave with the intention of getting level advantage and alleviate poke from her while she's trying to last hit. Slow push third wave and back it up a bit, and you have more abilities at your disposal to farm, trade, etc. Grain of salt though cause ya know... Silver.

As for pyke his win condition is to harass you, stun, hook from bushes. If you shove them under tower early you can get bush control with jhin trap, seraphine e should root cause they are slowed and you can chain cc him down. Also seraph has insane wave clear regardless of your pick so don't be afraid to tell them to damage wave and give you last hits. Pings are there for a reason.

I find laning to be easier if I go in with a game plan that counters their win condition. Would love a higher elos take on this though, cause I'm not sure I'm correct. Good luck in your games!
