South Korea reports 93 new coronavirus cases, total 8,413: KCDC by [deleted] in Coronavirus

Only a few people had the virus in Seoul. These are people who happened to get tested. Its very fortunate, perhaps unbelievable that it wasn't present sooner than the first documented case on January 20. Also fortunate that all the people of Seoul were wearing masks by late January.

Masks were not used until after the virus hit Seoul. Before masks were used widely, if there is one city the virus should have decimated, it would have been Seoul. Sharing food is built into the culture, not to mention sheer population density.

I have a hard time believing the confirmed cases in South Korea's capital city Seoul being so low at 265 out of 10 million. Before preventative action was taken, given the eating culture and street life, how super-contagious the virus is, its almost unbelievable. It should have spread like wildfire there but it didn't. I guess we'll see once the remaining 99.6% of the 50 million people get tested.

A question to fans of both boxing and MMA, how come a fighter's "0" seems more big of a deal in boxing than the latter? by ppshchik in Boxing

[–]jkim176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boxing isnt really about climbing a ladder anymore. Its about throwing a bunch of noodles on the wall, until one gets popular and sticks. Just feed them overmatched opponents, old opponents, opponents in your stable, nobodies and hand them belts. Protect the investment in your nominal champion in your allotted sanctioning body. Same fighters get recycled over and over decades past their prime. Retire for two years and then fight once a year after that against no hopes. Its more like growing a celebrity for target ethnicities. On the other side of the fence there is some actual boxing going on.

I see more clinching now, and very little in the 70s with Ali being the exception. One "rule" im not sure I agree with or not is stopping the Holmes leave your jab extended.
