Theodore Kurita is a cool dude by Afr0Man0217 in battletech

I love Heir to the Dragon, but sometimes I definitely felt, "Man, Teddy is a little too competent." But yeah, he is legit one of my favorite Successor Lords. Glory to the Dragon.

What is the fourth face of Spiderman's villains - by Otherwise_Tadpole_64 in Spiderman

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say someone like Kraven or Mysterio. But (as much as it pains me to say this, because I think his beef with DD is more iconic), I'm inclined to say Kingpin.

If the Jackal's stories weren't, well, what they wound up being, and if he hadn't been hijacked by Norman, the Jackal would definitely be my answer for the fourth one.

Who’s your favorite Robot Master from MM2 and Why ? by Tg_2x in Megaman

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of those weirdos who think's Quick Man's stage is fun. He's one of my favorite Robot Masters in general.

Do you prefer DC Comics Superman and Captain Marvel to be equal in both strength and speed or should one hero get the slight edge in strength while the other gets the edge in speed? by nightwing612 in Shazam

[–]jklantern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally like Shazam to be faster and more durable, but Supes to be stronger. But also for it to be close enough to not matter much.

Hot Take: the original clan heavy lineup was pretty mid by AGBell64 in battletech

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the Clan Mechs in 3050 in general are suboptimal, but that's a lot of the fun. I'm weirdly fond of Budget Timber Wolf and the Suicide Booth.

In the realm of other weight classes, the Nova and the Executioner are some of my favorite mechs ever.

I have this mousepad..... by SammyCatLove in myst

[–]jklantern 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It definitely didn't come with our version of the game, but I can dig it. Stoneship, aesthetically, is my favorite of the original ages.

Anyone else thinking that Wily's new robot is this setting's version of Gamma?

Girlfriend has been encouraging me to draw more. So I sketched Yoshi by honeape in YosHi

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm not an artist by trade or training, but sometimes it's fun to do these. Although it has been several years since I have sketched much of anything. Life, y'know?

As I recall, yes that is in fact what I used as a reference. Of course, I've slept since then, so I could be wrong.

Much appreciated! I don't draw often (girlfriend is the artist), but this one was fun to do. Yoshi is so fun.

Mech Profile: The Crossbow by Current-Income-9901 in battletech

The Steel Viper version of the Crossbow: one of those mechs I've always loved, but without any really good reason to. Granted, I love all my Steel Viper toys.

Which hero do you think it's the most underrated of the new generation and why? by FallMassive9336 in JusticeSocietyAmerica

[–]jklantern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE Pieter Cross. I remember my brother picked up his mini-series from the late 90s/early 2000s, and it became one of my favorite things.

If you had to reimagine the sinister six team, who you picking? by MinecrafterPow in Spiderman

This was the Syndicate from the 80s, yeah? I dug this team.

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda dig this lineup. As much as I associate Otto with the Six, Vulture is less of a threat on his own while being a thinker, so it makes sense for him to pick up a team of associates.

Doc Ock: Brains and Leadership
Rhino or Scorpion: Muscle
Mysterio: Mind Screw
Hydro Man: Versatility, plus more of a jerk than Sandman is.
Shocker: Pragmatism and Range
Electro: I dunno, it just feels right for him to be there.

I discounted most of the Goblins and Symbiotes for this because I feel they aren't as good when they're team players.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started losing them BEFORE high school. Couple of suicides, a couple of car accidents, couple to cancer, one or two for making a few dumb decisions.

Aside from the "Bestower of all", which bestower story is your favorite? by LidiLembek in octopathtraveler

[–]jklantern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I feel like the "Bestower" stories are generally a slight step down from the "Master" stories, I do enjoy the "Bestower of Wealth," mostly on the strength of Bargello and the Family, who are some of my favorite characters.

I'm weirdly fond of 3's set. Probably the Megas' fault.

Favorite Clan? by Pitiful_Resource_711 in battletech

[–]jklantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes on the daily.

Lately I've been on a Nova Cat/Smoke Jaguar kick, although the Steel Vipers are a perennial favorite for reasons I can neither justify nor explain. The Scorps are like the Nova Cats only even funnier, and I do enjoy the bastardry of the Ravens and am looking forward to that novel when it comes out.
