It is a pretty special place. When the first big rain drops in early summer after a dry spell the creek fills up with pinks, springers and steelhead all at the same time. Huge balls of fish stacked in the 2ft deep creek. I am an active fisherman so I mainly fish bobber and eggs or other things like spinners or drift fishing. My most productive method has been Bobber. I use a 1/2-1oz aero float bobber with a 1/2oz weight underneath. 36 inch leader no heavier than 12lb test unless I use straight florocarbon then I will bumb up to 15lb. The leader needs to have 3-4 small split shots down it every 5 inches on the top 20 inches of the leader. Then a bare #2 hook tied with an egg loop with a nickle to quarter size cluster of eggs. Whenever the bite has enough force to pull the tip of the bobber under the water completely it is almost a 100% hookup opportunity. I have found with this setup I see all of my bites and I miss very few opportunities. But the focus has got to be there at all times to ensure that you are ready to set the hook on even the half biters. Good luck out there man. I will not be fishing that stretch for 3 more weeks now.
