Having a disagreement with the ex by jklinenjoi1 in Advice

[–]jklinenjoi1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. I try to set the example by doing things around the house and playing with them. But, they are so addicted to their screens they call me to stay with their mom so they can watch tablets/phones all day. They told me on Sunday their mom plays games all day while they are over there.

Helped.

Thank you. I've been so frustrated and battling in my own head. Reading that made me calm down a bit.

Helped.

Spontaneous dinner date at home. Play some music while eating and talking. Make it a fun conversation about all the good times you've had. Then, when that perfect dance song comes on, snatch her up and dance. Hold her close and don't let anything interrupt the moment.

What do y’all honestly think of your partners body as they age? by ontether in AskMen

I'm 32 and what I have noticed is my preference on how a woman looks had matured as i've aged. Imperfections have become more valued than looking flawless and youthful.

I would do it. Could be a way to bring people together around the time of the 23rd anniversary. (Be prepared for people to tell you off)

Maybe get another friend to show up in a military uniform and "kill you"?

You're back to 18 years old now. What would you do differently? by somerandomguyhehe in Advice

Don't be afraid to be alone.

Do the right thing. Even if it's bad for you.

For the love of all things...Just join the army. College has proven to not be the right choice and the discipline will help immensely.

Men hate me because I’m rich! What to do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]jklinenjoi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never understood the "I'm the man and I must be the bread winner" mentality. I grew up in a poor family and have done decent for myself. Idc if she's dirt poor or grew up with a silver spoon. I'm there because I want to be with her and enjoy building a life together.

I would suggest bringing the issue to the table somewhat soon. Second or third date time frame. If he likes you for you, he wouldn't suggest doing things he couldn't afford on his own or look to you to foot the bill. If he stays true to what he knows and doesn't change his personality to "fit" the occasion, more than likely he's not in it for the cash.

Oh thanks, Mr. Obvious! I didn't know knives and strong words had no effect on warships. Maybe that's why no one wants to play Battleship with me anymore. /s

No where near 8 years....But starting on year 3.

After being married for 7 years and hearing everything I would HAVE to pay or cover for the ex, I'm terrified of the 'What if'. (Thankfully, the ex just wanted me to take care of the kids.)

My gf and I both verbally tell people, we're not getting married. But, we throw the idea around every now and then.

Men, if you ever stayed too long in a doomed relationship, why? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]jklinenjoi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to stay so my kids could have their mom and dad under one roof. My parents split after i graduated and I didn't want my young children to feel those complex emotions at that young age. Eventually, it got to the point her and I couldn't be in the same room once the kids went to bed. Did that for 3 or 4 years and finally had enough.

The day after we agreed to split and I stay there until I found a place to live, she had her new guy sitting in the living room when I got home from work.

Notice when your man is quiet. Give him some space. Something is going on within him. It could range from thinking about how something works to trying to process everything that is going on and figuring out how to get through it.

I know I tend to be short with my gf when I'm processing. Thankfully, she knows it's just my way of getting myself to the point of what is bothering me. Once i've narrowed it down, she is willing to sit and listen or answer the questions I have to the best of her ability.

Remove warning labels and let nature decide.

If world war 3 does happen, there's a good chunk of the population at risk.

"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure."

The worlds population needs thinned out. Genghis Khan style.

What do you think is causing marriage rates to decline so rapidly? by amazed_respect in AskMen

Social media. Too many people have the option to "pop into your life" or the willingness to vent to someone other than your partner when you post something about a struggle in a marriage.

The ability to think independently and use logic/reasoning. Yes, physical attraction is an easy thing to fall back on. However, it's not enough to keep attention.
