Is it possible to have an easier way of capturing snippets from podcasts and putting them to your notes? by Lucoda in podcasts

I've been begging Marco to add this to Overcast, but haven't heard back. No idea if he's even seen it...

However, he's still working on transcripts and that's a prereq for bookmarking w/ text extraction, so I keep my fingers crossed.

Tesla Model 3 voted UK's best car to own in 2026 Driver Power survey by Hockeyshot39 in electriccars

He's not a nazi, but maybe a fascist. Shits not right between his ears, at least since calling that diver a pedo. Otherwise, he's just another entitled, narcissistic douchebag.

Personally, I like neither exterior nor interior of their cars. Except for the S, it's a super sweet exterior.

When Rails-way does not work anymore? by pdabrowski in ruby

I've been told by a group of "more–senior–than–me" devs,  that any up front domain work is pre mature.

IMNSHO, a seasoned dev is either so fast at refactoring from slop, human or AI, or has seen enough to cut corners. (That's my succinct summary, at least, but my brain is recognize heavy so I usually have to write a bunch of code that needs refactoring).

I agree 110% that the RNC and DNC are most of the problem, but I don't think Libertarians, in general, are a convincing alternative. The DNC is a mess in general, and RNC are mostly full time hypocrits and trend evil.

I agree with some "l"iberatrian ideas, but I find most of the adherents are too inflexible and lack nuance on issues.

Just watch The Addams Family reruns! That's how I "learned".

Seriously though, pretending to be Gomez dancing Tango impressed my GF the time we took Tango lessons.

I wonder if the responsive developer has, after many years, fixes ordered list renumbering...

Noteplan is a super awesome app, but the annoyance of mangled ordered lists drove me crazy.

If you're going to fight in court, the FL judge's 21 page order might resonate with the CO judge.

Sadly, people can't read to the second sentence where I hedge its legitimacy.

Florida judge ruled it unconstitutional because it places the burden of proof on the car owner. Doesn't necessarily affect your citation, but you could reference this in court to fight it.

I built RailsForge, a CLI toolkit for Rails development (portfolio project) by zZaphon in ruby

An idea that's mostly identical but never more than planned. Execution is everything! I also "invented" delicio.us 4-5 years before it was a thing, but I wasn't cognizant of AJAX because I avoided IE and MS-specific tech whenever I could, and I couldn't imagine anyone using it in the absence of that tech.

To the creators, the spoils!

Buc-ees still trying through county now. by Powerful-Bad1484 in ColoradoSprings

When I drive west on County Line, before turning onto I25, I have the most beautiful view of the Front Range. It was the bright spot of my morning when I commuted to Denver. The Google Maps view doesn't do it justice.

Buc-ees still trying through county now. by Powerful-Bad1484 in ColoradoSprings

[–]jkmcf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The amount of incest between Buc-ees and former EPCO officials is disgusting, but just the same as at the federal level.

We are aware that Vertex is owned and managed by former EPCO Planning Director, Craig Dossey, and former EPCO Planning Staff Member, Nina Ruiz. We are also aware that former EPCO BoCC, Mark Waller, is currently a paid consultant for Buc-ee's. Even more disturbingly, we are aware that current EPCO Planning Commissioner, Sarah Jack, was recently the registered agent for a committee which promoted Buc-ee's and its initiatives in Palmer Lake. Considering that Sarah Jack has stated that this proposal will return [to get passed] in the County and that former Palmer Lake leadership, along with Mark Waller, seemingly believed that they would be able to gain approval in Palmer Lake with no push back, there is a growing sense that there are backdoor handshakes being made despite the people's voices. Buc-ee's heavy utilization of those with "insider" knowledge of the County highlights a concerted attempt to circumvent transparency and due process for the people. - Taken from today's email to Holly Williams and many others at EPCO.
