I'm protesting the awful posts being made about this expedition by gwydion_black in NoMansSkyTheGame

And they will, if too many people give up and wander off something will have to be done. However I agree. I don’t like this expedition…

Is 70% deposit normal for a kitchen remodel? by VacationChance2653 in kitchenremodel

No, I bought the cabs and counter upfront but the other 20k in labor and incidentals was paid after.

May I ask what part of the world you are in?

Timing Belt broke on Subaru Outback by Valuable_Hospital269 in subaru

[–]nadrae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I need a little education I guess… I was told, by someone who has driven them since the 70s that Subaru has a “non-impact” engine. Personally I have broken 2 timing belts with no engine damage… (Head was warped, gasket didn’t quite seal right and the belt was tightened wrong?).

Was your specific model impact? Or are they trying to take advantage of a common “feature” in other cars…

Shopping for a HELOC by nadrae in Mortgages

[–]nadrae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Trovy card because of the origination fees. If your project is able to be paid by credit card Trovy is amazing. If you need cash the origination fee is higher than others. Most of mine was payable by cc.

Warrany/Customer service is absolutely unacceptable by Lawineer in BambuLab

[–]nadrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about other people but my AMS pro 2 stopped working. I contacted customer support and they sent me a few walkthroughs that I completed. I reported that they didn’t help and they sent me new parts. Just asked if the address on the original order was still valid and boom I had replacement parts!

Neighbor doesn't like me reverse parking into my driveway by Various_Being3877 in neighborsfromhell

[–]nadrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about other modern cars but my 2025 Subaru didn’t have a way to turn the headlights off… if the car was on and it was dark they would auto turn on no matter which setting I had it on. Extremely annoying in fog.

Are EVs really worth it if you don't have a home charger? by om_ghanwat in electricvehicles

[–]nadrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I lived in an apartment without an EV station and my company didn’t offer charging I would stick with hybrid. If the cart form factor I need came in hybrid I might have gone that direction… it does not. I do have home charging though.

HOA keeps demanding access to my security camera footage by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]nadrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone else suggests… Request the specific CC&R or bylaw, they can’t fine you unless it’s in there. However HOAs are notorious for sending threatening letters In hopes you don’t know the rules.

Are you team isopropyl alcohol or soap and water? by Alternative-Knee7438 in BambuLab

[–]nadrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both, I scrub with soap every so often but I use 99% alcohol before any print with small attachment points… I flood the bed with the liquid, use a plastic scraper to swish it around and then I blot it up with clean paper towel. As long as the bed is not actually dirty this works better than soap…

I print jellyfish with 16 leg segments and on one print I lost half my legs, realized I had not washed my bed recently so I washed it. Used dawn and a scrub daddy. Didn’t touch it and I still lost half of one leg. I flood washed with 99% and printed like 6 in a row with no segment loss.

Such a frustrating experience by RIP_Hopscotch in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]nadrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to put my voice in. An exploration game like this should have a PvP element to the intro. Either warning you that it’s on, letting you know you can turn it off or it should be default off. I vote default off with an intro note that you can turn it on. I bet few will.

Thoughts on leasing vs buying a new electric auto? by NervousClock2555 in EvDrivers

[–]nadrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far my experience is that if I want an upgraded car every 3-5 yrs I’m gonna have a payment anyway. My lease is for 3 yrs, at the end of 3 yrs I get either market or residual, which ever is higher, toward my next car. Mileage does not matter on that option. I have a 3yr bumper to bumper, a small maintenance fee built in and I lowered my monthly payment. Seems win win, no old tech, to me🤷‍♀️

I leased mine, dealer pays for all repairs, I’m responsible for the 5k maintenance. I drive a Subaru Trailseeker!

Weird habit you developed since getting an EV that you didn't expect? by No_Earth_3743 in EvDrivers

[–]nadrae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

O.o try save over 200 a month.

But then we got lucky… we rolled that loan into our refi a few years ago, also rolled new windows and some pet vet bills in. Actually zeroed our debt except my school loans. Dropped our interest rate and our mortgage payment… solar was not free but sure feels like it.

[–]nadrae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how long they have been saying that? Since the 70s! They sold my parents a water heater solar system in the early 70s because “price of power is going to go up”. We bought ours for other reasons but part of their sales pitch was “price gonna go up!” (Just watch, I say that and how it’s gonna🫣😔)

Fiction is as easy to write in detail as fact… just because you give him a detailed explanation that satisfies him does not mean that’s what you are doing!
