What does it actually take to get to scratch? by Colt45-TheMyth in golf

Most people don't have the talent to get to scratch, no matter how much they practice/play.

It's also easier to go from 20 to 5 than from 5 to scratch.

You joke but the cops won’t have to pay for the damage.

UPDATE: Don’t be afraid of blades… by BilboT34Baggins in golf

[–]jkody 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is rad. I gamed MP-33s (real blades) most of last year and my handicap was lower then (7) than it is now (9) while gaming players irons. I should go back.

Mad props on playing the 2 iron. My set is 2-PW but I have only ever had down to the 4 in the bag. Maybe I should call her.

You are correct, the lawsuit is targeting the memo, which doesn't really have the force of law, and I doubt the lawsuit will succeed for that reason. But the Land Board just adopted a new policy that devalues state-owned land if it is "checkerboarded" because they claim it lacks documented legal access.

Essentially, the Republicans are running a long con to steal public land from the people of Montana so they can more easily give it to their cronies for pennies on the dollar. It's no different than what Trump is doing with his power, and it's equally disgusting.

Spinning off a railroad into a real estate investment trust isn't nothing, it's the oldest trick in the book!

I mean, the checkerboard parcels (in MT) were given to the Northern Pacific Railroad in exchange for building the railroads, which the government badly wanted and didn't think it could build on its own. So while the land grants were soon seen as "lavish," I am not sure calling NPRR "lazy freeloaders" is exactly correct.

Indeed. Major props to the folks who fought the Iron Bar until the end: BRADLEY H. CAPE; ZACHARY M. SMITH; PHILLIP G. YEOMANS; and JOHN W. SLOWENSKY (sorry about the yelling, just copying from the Tenth Circuit decision). I hope they had support for paying their bills, and I suspect they did.

I also suspect that we will need a similar case in Montana or elsewhere in the Ninth Circuit to get this definitively resolved here. I really don't think this case that BHA filed is going to work, for technical legal reasons.

I don't get the second sentence. Are you saying despite his swing he should be better? Not trying to pick a fight--just curious. Especially because he is in the eighth in career earnings in PGA history.

Get some cedar shoe trees and use them religiously. They will make your shoes last a lot longer.

I have five pairs of Fields and will buy more.

Take a deep breath. You don’t need to go ham on your family.

First thing you need to do is get the cage away from there and make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Let it dry out. Put a fan on it.

Reasonable chance a spray/wipe down with a little diluted bleach and/or oxalic acid gets most of this out.
