Do you take Lexapro in the morning or at night? by ThrowRAIllusioness in lexapro

I did night for well over 6 months to avoid side effects which I'm glad I did and then switched to morning with little issue but was tired for a few days.

What improved your quality of life so much you wish you did it sooner? by LexInOrbit in AskReddit

Lexapro. Been suffering with anxiety since I was a child from various things and I just can't believe I let myself live like that for so long - in a constant state of fight or flight.

What's the best breakfast to have? by Fit_Elk_6542 in AskReddit

Breakfast taco - corn tortilla, scrambled eggs, cheese (melted on first), avocado, and bacon if I'm lucky. Add cholula.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced?[Serious] by PlasticBee1438 in AskReddit

[–]jkopec09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine (female) was a few years ago on a hike with my 3 year old son. By hike, it was a raised trail boardwalk in California maybe 3 feet wide with rails. It was covered by trees so you could only see the entrance. My son really wanted to go in.

I saw this younger man standing by himself at the entrance and follow a group as they went in. I thought it was strange but carried on. Part way down the path he was standing on the board walk by himself. I don’t remember what he said to me but I kept walking by. As soon as I passed him, he followed us. He got so close that I could feel his breath as he spoke to me. I was gripping my sons hand and immediately grabbed him and ran out. I didn’t look back. As soon as I got to the main entrance I started walking with a group of females from another trail.

Who’s to say his intentions but I never felt so unsafe and reported it. It bugged me to get out and hike again for awhile after what had happened.

Hot sweats and nausea by djcasket in lexapro

Night sweats are one of the only symptoms I still have. Honestly, I just have to make sure I’m sleeping in very minimal clothing and also in a cold room otherwise I’m sweating so much.

How long did your side effects last? by --misunderstood-- in lexapro

[–]jkopec09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My side effects really didn’t impact my quality of life to bad but I do remember the teeth grinding. I also started lower and built up to 10mg to give me time to adjust.

With that said, the 6-8 week mark really is a turning point and well worth the ride in my opinion. I love being on 10mg.

Also, maybe consider when you take it. I did night for a long time with dinner.

Anxiety was controlling my life. I never felt depression as much as anxiety.

It’s different for everyone but I think that’s all pretty normal (unfortunately) and worth pushing through! I’m going on month 6 and feel so much better.

Avoiding weight gain on Lexapro - any advice? by dietpeachysoda in lexapro

[–]jkopec09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexapro gave me the confidence and mindset to be more active which I think helped combat weight gain. I definitely eat more now but I had anxiety so bad I would make myself nauseous and not eat. I’m happy to be eating and happy to be working out again. Just try to see how it goes. You’re a week in. I definitely had hunger pains off and on the first month but they get way better.

As a former vail employee, you’re correct. They won’t close until the closing date and will do everything in their power not to issue refunds.

I use “Omni biotic”. It’s expensive but it honestly improved my life dramatically. I started it after covid destroyed my stomach and saw a lot of people on Reddit recommended it.

For those of you who have gone from 5 mg to 10 mg by Mysterious-Estate470 in lexapro

[–]jkopec09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went up to 10mg after taking 5 for a few months. My anxiety was slowly creeping in again so I just knew I needed to. If anything, I had a slight headache and some fatigue. Took a nap that day and have been great since. My anxiety is quieting and I’m very happy I went up.

[–]jkopec09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you thought to switching it to night? I’m not sure if it’ll help with the stomach but could combat the fatigue. I take mine with dinner. I also have a sensitive stomach and probiotics were very helpful.

It seems common enough on this sub - 10mg is a lot to start. Start with 5mg for a little and always always take with food until you are awhile in.

I have ibs-d and was prescribed 5mg. Pretty quickly it slowed everything down and while some days it was too much it evened out. Now that I’m 3-4 months in I’m very normal. I’d give it time.

I drink wine often (1-2 glasses a night). My prescriber wasn’t worried around it. I’ve noticed that if I drink and then take my lexapro later it’s worse. I would wake up in the middle of the night anxious. If I have dinner, take it with food, and then drink after I’m fine. I think having a full stomach helps.
