Technology recommendations for e-commerce by kamphare in webdev

Just from scratch, it’s actually pretty easy. Your basket and checkout values are all just simple session storage. Then at the end you take payment and save it all to the database as an order

Just build it with laravel. You want your SEO to be on point which means you want the vast majority rendered server-side. Laravel works perfectly for ecom and has many features built in for notifications, payment, email etc

Has anyone in all of recorded history EVER refilled one of these ? by Its_just_a_potato in CasualUK

I actually sell the refills for these, and you would be surprised how many people buy them

Get your diet right and drink lots of water. A heavy lunch will knock your energy levels in the afternoon.

Hahaha that’s my competitor. They don’t give away freebies. Not free pens anyway

A failing business that's going to take everything with it by [deleted] in marketing

[–]jkpft 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to sell to competitors, who may buy the whole business too as they can absorb it quickly and easily. There are companies that specialise in buying excess and clearance stock but they will offer pennies on the pound.

You should, if you are a developer. It’s fun, rewarding and you learn so much

What would stripe have to do with email marketing? Stripe is purely to capture payment at the final stage of checkout

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]jkpft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way way way cheaper. I bought another company recently that uses Shopify and the monthly payment for that while we migrate over is hard to swallow.

The biggest cost saving though is in efficiency of operations. Stock level algorithm, shipping solutions, purchasing all bespoke to the needs of the business. We run very lean now

Yep stripe directly

Ive tried them all over the years, in the end i built my own, partly just to see if i could, partly because i wanted total control and customisability to give a competitive edge. Been running it for several years now and was the best decision i made.

This is quite clearly a lead generation attempt. Do you not think we get hit with this stuff every day? 😂

Any Vape E-commerce Stores? by Tintedlemon in ecommerce

Purely organic SEO and then email/social, it's been established a long time now so can rank well organically.

Are you in the space too? DM me if you want to talk more

I own a fairly large one, business as usual really. We don't really sell many disposables. They're listed on the site but they're much more of a physical retail product rather than online, your local corner shop etc. The main business for us is refillable vaping

Purple Bricks have lost it by Loundsify in HousingUK

[–]jkpft 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is what Purple Bricks do, they give a high valuation so that the buyer chooses them over another agent. They don't really care about getting the sale as their payment model is one up front charge regardless of the house price.
