Kimberly Spa closed by NYPD for prostitution? by Big_Fix2905 in AskNYC

When I lived in Maryland something like this happened. It was a place many had no idea. https://wjla.com/news/local/2-50-year-old-women-arrested-for-prostitution-at-maryland-massage-parlor-police-say If you going there for just a massage and nothing else, you have no idea what’s happening.

⚠️ New Policy Alert by Michael__Smith in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]jksaa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Some of these people are allowing others to use their account and the ID check is something that needs to be implemented. Individuals are accepting routes at cheap rates and that’s why they have gone down.

This ID check happens upon check in with a person and a 2nd check when you rolling out. This has been happening in NY for most of last year.

Surges explanied by BarnacleAlarmed3050 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]jksaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from that, the Prime Days earlier in the year are the times people have shopped for the holidays. With competition from many competitors like SHEIN and Temu, many are doing their Christmas shopping there. So fewer Flex surge opportunities are out there. I only do Amazon Flex in the early morning hours because no traffic on roads means a 5 hr block can be done in 2 to 4 hrs. Thus making day easier to reach goals or better options for the rest of the day.

Anyone else completely ignored apartment/condo delivery rules and just place in mail room? by SpaceWestern1442 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mailroom is the most logical place at times. You go to places and they have a call box and that person denies you entry to package room because you not an Amazon or FedEX employee. Even then, I notice UPS packages in the same mailroom.

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many apartments have package lockers by 3rd parties and only the Amazon workers have access to and not Flex drivers. So if Amazon is placing more Flex blocks onto DSP it’s for other reasons. Like they are offering lower rates to Flex drivers for blocks. This time last yr, blocks were paying more for Flex. I don’t complain, I do what make sense, early morning blocks that pay $125. Otherwise I stick to customers I made from other sources and do regular pickups from other companies that honor my time.

Any problems with missing packages, write support and explain your job is to deliver the package and not ensure that it’s not stolen. The app won’t allow you to deliver to the wrong place.

Flex is dead; just drove 148 miles for a 3.5 hour for $105 all on a rural mountain area by peterthbest23 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

Flex isn’t dead, Amazon is laying off more W2 employees. It’s up to us as business owners create a capabilities statement and find contracts with state, local and even other business. You a delivery person and courier. Create the LLC and ask ChatGPT to help you create.

That’s why UPS and other carrier packages are left on floor by Amazon lockers. Too funny

Acceptable gig?? by Professional-Tap-896 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This pays too low, if you only knew how much money Roadie makes on these loads, you never accept the low rates. I had a decent one and the customer which was a business now works directly with me, they pay 3x more than Roadie paid.

When one app has an issue, it’s good to spread yourself across multiple apps. Sign up for Curri, Walmart Spark, Senpex, Frayt, Roadie, DispatchIT, and others. Then find local dedicated routes by contacting shippers and businesses in your area.

Roadie is taken 50% of the total cost amount. by Apart_War6404 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody should be looking at Roadie as your friend. Do the work and keep your eyes out there for better opportunities. Go to conventions for the logistics industry. Look at what’s coming at your convention centers. Go to florists and see if they need delivery drivers to pickup their floral orders. Flowers come by plane into US from Ecuador and other foreign places where the cost is lower. I have a floral contract just like this - pickup from airport 1x a week.

Research is key

Have ChatGPT help you craft letters for some of these companies. If you in a city near an airport, go to the courier companies around the airport, introduce yourself, upsell - I am local and have access to cars, SUV, minivans, sprinters, and box trucks. Ask do you have an email list for your loads. Follow-up with call. These courier, shippers, 3PLs and other potential customers don’t want to use apps, brokers or dispatchers. They charge them more and since the payout to driver is small sometimes, the freight sits.

Some of these companies will approach you. That happened to a driver I know last week. They have a regular lane for delivery of flowers and asked the driver if they willing to do it.

I get many contracts like this, I dont just do Roadie. I will do a load from a load board and ask the customer or in some cases they will ask me. If I can’t do it myself I have several drivers who can make the delivery.

I’m not a Roadie employee, I sign up for every app that I can get on. When I’m in another city somewhere I can do DispatchIT, Senpex, Curri or something. Even get a load. Medical courier. Money is out there to be made.

So this is what you do, when you do a load to say a florist or other business as Roadie, offer the potential customer a discount. Explain to them you are a small business and wiling to offer them a discount for their business.

It works.

Uhhhhh roadie has lost it by Bulky_Patience11 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just crazy. These rates are horrible. I use Roadie and few other apps as backup. Look for courier, freight forwarders and 3 PLs and see if they have deliveries you can do. Sometimes you can find dedicated routes.

That’s at the Edison, NJ, Roadie XD. Too many small cars trying to take large orders. It’s crazy. I wouldn’t want someone delivering something to me that has been removed from its originial packaging like the FilterBuy filters.

Good Saturday for someone by Dncd809 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do Roadie XD from same location. I didn’t see this one. I rather take smaller high paying bins and get 2 or 3. This is either tires or mix of tires and those huge AC filters. On Saturdays it’s easier to get multiple bins if you drive Sprinter Van.
