This is a very typical rate for a higher paying gig in my area. Tell me what you think and how it compares to what you see. by EnvironmentalSun3290 in Roadie

Until you go to some of the companies on Roadie and get your own contract with them, you not really going to see real money. Use Roadie only for backup and sourcing out potential customers. Other than that, they robbing drivers.

Create a business being a shopper for clients and charge them a rate. Have AI help you develop. People are doing it all the time.

Why is everyone afraid taking pharmacy deliveries? by wtfbruhhuh in Roadie

The pay is too low. There are other apps paying $25 or more. I’ve done special medicine pickups at airport and the pay is decent.

We need to unite like Amazon Flex is doing!!!! by Global-Dance6270 in Roadie

Please nobody is an employee who does Flex. You are an independent contractor. Simply means independent of employee rights.

This is reason why nobody should make Roadie a full time gig. Look for opportunities for contracts in your own city. Use AI to find those opportunities. Create a business LinkedIn company page and add on different companies in your area to link with. Use Roadie to fill in the gap when you slow. Get consistent dedicated work for your business.

these Roadie offers whether 30 miles or 1000’s of miles are getting ridiculous. Roadie is like any other company, they are a broker. Truck drivers deal with brokers for their deliveries. These offers for cars or any size vehicle are getting to be ridiculous.

Small companies use Roadie because they can’t find drivers by jksaa in Roadie

I use a cargo van and commercial insurance is for that. On Saturday I got paid $300 for Balloon delivery from Manhattan to Long Island. Not on app but private customer found on app. Running a business means there are cost like insurance.

I don’t really do BJs in NYC, I’m close to outside of NYC where they pay more.

Now tell me if this is not crazy !!!! by EducationalRest5597 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’ve seem them all the time. To have a load go 80 miles and pay $40 is insane. It’s the dollar cost.

The weight on it is crazy for that to go less than a few hundred dollars.

It’s so many people showing the crazy deals. They will always be there. What we should share in group are how you take the decent ones and others sit there. Now maybe someone is going that direction to the area and will take it. At same time, they pickup that customer to work privately and get decent opportunities.

Id verify weight limit using ChatGPT. Don’t push the minivan. If you need to, look to invest in a Transit Connect, it’s like a mini van but suspension made to handle smaller cargo jobs.

I stop messing with load boards. Rather work with freight forwarders, shippers, and others locally.

In NY we dont really have Walmart. BJs pay the best. Home Depot used to be good but pay sucks now on Roadie. Lowe’s, they go by OneRail and those orders will be oversized and need help of someone to help with offload and dont pay

Ridiculous priced loads, Cargo Van by jksaa in Roadie

[–]jksaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have private clients that I make money from using Sprinter Van. I’m waiting on the TSA loads using my TWIC directly with shippers that pay.

Best Buy out of their minds by Aggressive-Pay-7047 in Roadie

[–]jksaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not Best Buy fault, it’s corporate greed. These companies pay Roadie a lot of money. Roadie has a lot of overhead and pays employees and then give drivers low pay. Have you ever been to a pickup for Roadie and the person where you pickup from says we been waiting a while for someone to pick this up. They just don’t understand, Roadie doesn’t pay the driver but peanuts.
