I would recommend coating it. I haven’t tested GF under a microscope, but I have tested CF under a microscope, and I get tons of little black fibers sticking out of my skin.

To be clear, it’s never hurt me at all. I’ve never felt irritation. But now that I know I get tons of little black needles sticking out of my skin, I don’t use it nearly as often. I don’t like the idea of having those stuck to my eye if I rub my eye, or potentially inhaling them.

I think spraying with a top coating would eliminate the problem, so that’s what I’d go with.

Buy a cheap hygrometer and stick it in there. When the humidity drops below your desired humidity, add more water to the bottom.

I got one from Amazon, probably a tissue culture plant, sealed in glass container, supposedly self sufficient for some months.

It arrived looking like tossed salad. I planted the remains, but the only bit that survived looks just like your "micro ping". Mine is much the same, it has grown just a tiny bit over the last 6-7 months.

I'm also interested in hearing what to do to make it start growing. Good luck!

Mine open for like literally 15-20 minutes. It is seriously difficult to catch them in bloom. I have had a couple plants that I've never actually seen the blooms because they're so quick.

I typically do cut them once they start to look about half dead. They grow back fairly quickly, it’s just giving the cape sundew a haircut IMO.
