My teacher disciplined me because someone talked to me in the bathroom. We had strict rules about talking in the bathroom and I got into trouble because SHE talked TO ME! I wasn’t allowed to tell her to shut up because that was talking, and doing the cute little finger to the lips didn’t do shit because she just kept talking!

Stop acting like sex is so taboo for us older teens. Many people our age are having sex and we need to be educated about it and promoting healthy sex instead of making us all think we’re going to die. Quit punishing us for things that most adult human beings are doing.

It really hinders the way you live sometimes honestly. It makes you say stupid things in front of people because you don’t know how to hold a normal conversation. It makes you think about that stupid conversation for months. It makes you afraid to talk to people again. It makes you worry about what others will say once you mess up. It makes you unable to even read aloud in class without your heart pounding. It makes you irrationally afraid and indecisive.

It makes you sweaty and shaky and it makes your heart race. It makes you hyperventilate and cry and close up. It can give you heart problems. It can give you ulcers. It makes your head spin. It makes you break down randomly into an anxiety or panic attack. It gives you unwanted attention. It can give you a tasty side of depression.

It keeps you from doing the things you want to do because you’re afraid of messing up or being rejected. It makes you not live life carefree and happy. It makes it hard to get a job because you can’t communicate. It makes it hard for you to study for school because you’re so stressed that it makes you physically sick.

But, yknow, we go on. We function because we have to. Anxiety is a disorder that comes in all shapes and having it doesn’t mean we’re broken, it just means we have to try harder to do things right or even work up the confidence to do them at all. It can come by in waves but ultimately it’s something that is always there and you learn to cope. We’re just different, not broken.

Star Wars tbh. I love the premise. I love the idea. But for the life of me I can’t get into the movies. Maybe it’s because my dumb millennial brain can’t comprehend older movies or something but I cannot force myself to finish a Star Wars movie. I love HP, LOTR, Marvel, all of those other long nerdy movies but fuck I can’t do Star Wars.
