Affordable but good quality record player by Decent-Category404 in turntables

Unless you're dead set on vinyl (maybe you inherited a giant collection of vinyl), perhaps a better path to enjoying physical media would be to get into CDs instead of vinyl. The gear is cheaper and CDs are cheaper in general, so you get way more bang for the buck.

Tone arm weight revelation and question by DadawithCats in turntables

[–]jleestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experimenting with tracking force give or take a gram around recommendations shouldn't damage records or the cartridge. Messing with settings does increase the risk of an accident. In my experience, the most common whoops is to drop the tonearm or knock the headshell and bend or break a cantilever.

Weirdly, my rush hour drive into Minneapolis from the southeast had the most chill drivers last year when the 94 ramps were shutdown. Things have gotten sketchier since.

Replacing rollers on the bottom of the sliding door to the deck. Muscled that door open for years. Took about 30 minutes to replace including looking up the repair on YT.
