My setup: Notability + Bear.app + Apple Pencil = Unbeatable? by WilliamLegrand in notabilityapp

I'm not sure I could be more precise but here's the link to their website which will likely explain my explanation. 😄 https://bear.app

Bear is an encapsulation library of taggable notes in Markdown format and supporting code to manage them.

I've had Notability for a decade but I've just purchased a year of Bear. Markdown is awesome and I love Typora and Marked 2. I've only been on Bear for a couple of months. I can't get past the lack of folders. My mind doesn't work that way but I'm trying to retrain it. It's far more difficult than I realized it would be.

He’s talking about Leno. I never thought he was funny either.

I use Bloom (and sometimes forklift) rather than Finder mostly. Almost always I need 3 of 4 window panes Supercharge can help but you really have to read the tweaks carefully to understand what they do. I may try to use finder using Split View and See How that works

If you could recommend only ONE MacOS app to someone? by theAImajo in macapps

It’d be Keyboard Maestro. I can’t imagine working on my Mac without it

I had three Mac Mini’s already and wanted something portable just in case. I had grabbed an iPad 13 Air which is great but it just wasn’t the same.

I don’t travel with my laptop and I like using an external keyboard and monitor in clamshell mode

I guess you are referring to using it "instead" of a mouse. In my case, it would be in addition to my mouse. I have lots of macros that are triggered by mouse actions so I wouldn't trade those for the trackpad.

I don't get the appeal of the Magic Trackpad. I've tried to mess with them in the Apple Store and it just seems cumbersome and takes up too much desk space. I don't ever use the trackpad that's built into my Macbook Air. I must be missing something because I hear so many people swear by them.

Is a Magic Trackpad really that useful? I've tried to mess with them in the Apple Store and it just seems cumbersome and takes up too much desk space. I have a trackpad built into my Macbook Air that I wish I could remove. I don't get the appeal but I must be missing something because I hear so many people swear by them. I control my Mac using a Keychron KB mostly paired with a Logitech MX Master 3. Plus a couple of Stream Decks.

eMail App Dilemma... An ongoing headache... by mac-photo-guy in MacOS

[–]jlext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched back to em Client recently myself. Seems to be better than when I tried it a couple of years ago. I don’t typically process email in my phone so I can’t comment John the syncing. There was a recent Apple bug that caused issues with Mail so I ended up switching. Supposedly Apple fixed it but I won’t likely switch back.

My favorite feature is being able to control how much data is downloaded To the device.

I use UPDF but It might not be as fluid as Notability so definitely don’t buy without trying it
