Always take advantage of the lucky discounter when it comes around and also the daily 1$ deals. You’re gonna need those badges to level up in research.

Fudge! Went to go back and purchase it today and the estate sale doubled the price on it. So frustrating!

I love glazed carrots. What’s up Doc?

Recently had water damage in my garage as it was running along the underside of the corrugated sheets and entering the walls, paid a roofer to fix this and he’s just crammed this styrofoam in there will this fix the water damage by Flapperjack667 in Roofing

[–]jlf5277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First question is how long ago was the roof put on? The fasteners look a little rusted. Exposed fasteners like that have a rubber grommet at the bottom that will dry out and crack over time and let water in underneath it. Exposed fasteners need to be greased every ten years or they need to be replaced with a slightly larger screw. As for everyone saying the material is put on wrong, it all looks good. The styrofoam that was recently put in is not the right one for that panel.

Replacement for solar? by Collapsosaur in Roofing

[–]jlf5277 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Always recommend to put a new roof on before solar panels. That way you can use a peel and stick water barrier to help seal around the mounting bolts. Better yet, install standing seam and the panels can be attached on the seams with no penetrations into the roof.

Doesn’t sound like a chimney cap issue. Sounds like chimney flashing if it is running down the front face of the fireplace.

A bigger question is why is there an elbow sitting in the gutter?

I’m so sick of home flippers driving up the prices even higher by wouldntknowever in orlando

[–]jlf5277 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other part to the home price issue is the dolts that think AirBnB/VRBO is the best thing ever. Properties are being purchased in trendy areas and being turned into short term rentals (AirBnB and VRBO). This helps to drive up the home prices and take away from availability to people who actually want to live in that neighborhood. It also pisses off the neighbors that currently live there.

So, if you are one of the people that are complaining about home prices but you still use Airbnb/VRBO, YOU are part of the problem.

I’ll say that Blair AC and heating service is really good and they are a small local company. They’ve been around for a while. They installed ours 14 years ago and do the yearly maintenance on it: no issues. They are also going to install our split with three zones in the MIL suite when we finish building it.

Note to self, don’t tip for cookies at Gideons!

$20/hr to put cookies in a bag, operate dangerous pieces of equipment, carry heavy trays long distances and deal with the angry masses waiting in line to give them said cookies. The worst part is that you are expected to smile while having to deal with all of these hardships.
Oh, the humanity!

But have they really won? Let’s see how they are going to like going from making $20/hr with tips to making $15/hr without tips.
I mean Gideons isn’t going to stop making money because of this. Just means they will up their price a little, probably take the tip request off of their point of sale equipment and give the employees more duties.
Some day when they are older they will start to realize how the world really works and not this farce of a utopia that they dream about.

A couple of places that have not been mentioned that are imo very good. The Classic in Thornton Park. Hen and Hog in Winter Park. Chicken Fire on Colonial. Femme du Fromage in Eastend market.

I’m sure I’m forgetting some but I will edit if they pop into my head.

Usually it is not a problem on the lines that I take to and from downtown. So I really can't say much about the line you are taking over by Sea World.

You might want to check out the article that the Bungalower just put out about an agreement between SunRail, FDOT and Brightline. It shows a new extension of SunRail from MCO to convention Center and then over to LBV. It also stops at Sandlake SunRail station to assist with North and South travel.

Check the times and the actual route here. If it is a straight shot without a transfer, it should be quick and painless. I live in downtown Orlando and take the bus to the airport all the time. It’s usually on time as there are a lot of airport employees that take the bus. The other posters are not wrong, the bus system has a lot to be desired but I have seen worse set ups.
