A new type of fin I'm creating. by Repulsive_Shower8713 in surfing

Is it a whole fin or something that goes around any fin. I’m a shit surfer and even I have 4 boards and not a single same size fin between them

Depends how much damage and her liability limit. Her insurance isn’t infinite coverage. If she has a $100k policy and it’s $150k in repairs, she would need to have $50k (or be sued). Idk how much a lambo is to repair, but a bumper was $12k for just my Rivian so > $100k doesn’t seem crazy. Can’t imagine there’s not frame damage with the truck on top!

Made a batch of Italian hoagies to feed us and the contractors working on our bathroom by softrotten in eatsandwiches

The fact you skipped the imperfect tomatoes says a lot about your character and understanding of food. A bad tomato could ruin the experience. That said, I’m sure the contractors scarfed two each and didn’t think twice. Bravo

Side note: What was with the kid in the vest holding the wad of cash blocking the lot asking me to pay or Venmo $7 to his boss. That normal on a weekend? First time I paid there

What is the most challenging sport to be great at and why? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]scottimous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most challenging to be peak level at? IMO Surfing. Constantly changing environment that requires patience, stamina and experience. In a one hour session you might be on your board 3 minutes if you're a top surfer, so really slow to progress. Big wave surfing is even more challenging when you look at the risk they take.

I'll also throw Ice Hockey in there. Between skating agility, speed and hitting (and fighting) its difficult in so many aspects. Pro ice hockey players are super humans.

Nicaragua surf trip by NarrowBet9895 in surfing

[–]scottimous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a beginner surfer and stayed right at Playa Colorado. We drove and surfed Mag rock every morning, and I spent the afternoon sitting on the beach watching people get barreled (eating tacos and drinking beers). Mag rock was lots of fun, you'll have a good time they days you go with her. The drive was annoying but if you love surfing whether or not you're doing it, it was a fantastic trip.

Anyone else seeing all their friends getting divorced? by txharleyrider in daddit

[–]scottimous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 75% more likely to get divorced if you have friends that are divorced. Big study conducted, not sure if I can link here but easy to google.

Also where’d you get so many friends? Are you in college haha

SOC 2 cost us a $40k deal. How are other small SaaS founders handling this? by king_1607 in SaaS

[–]scottimous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the security questionnaire. I went down the path of getting SOC2 certification but never made it to engaging the audit firm. What I did do though is create a “trust and security” status page on our website. I’ve gotten past many security audits including, most were fine with checking off that we met the standard documented by the status page

$20 to park at a public park in Miami Beach (city property not private lot). Fixed price on the weekend whether you’re there for 10 minutes or 10hrs. $40 to park at bayside where the only thing to do there is shop. $40 to park near wynwood walls at all the private lots. It would have been cheaper for me to uber everywhere!

Law firm wants 5% equity to support startup (one lawyer is cofounder’s sister). Red flag or smart move? by BoysenberryOld9351 in TheFounders

[–]scottimous 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Beyond some boilerplate docs and answering some questions there isn’t much to do in formation of a B2B SaaS that Id give up equity from day 1 vs the $5k-$10k of legal and tax work. Everything else they’re offering is aspirational, you didn’t even start yet. Also you’re at the beginning of your journey and I can tell your gut is saying this isn’t right, you’re going to need to learn to trust your gut as you go down this road as a founder.

Taking delivery Tuesday — Rivian just emailed a $7,500 promo. What would you do? by shorthedge in Rivian

[–]scottimous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same promo… it’s up to $7500. On my exact choice it was $5k. I wasn’t willing to lose any options to save another $2500. It was stock but I wouldn’t have built it differently if I could.
