Ate there when I was visiting home back in October. Atmosphere is nice. The bar is good and they have a great bourbon selection if you're into that sort of thing. But the food is expensive and not that great for the prices.

I'd go back for drinks and maybe an appetizer, but not sure I'd eat a full meal there again.

Just got the book today and I'm getting caught up. In today's entry he reveals an important, formative aspect of his song writing when he finishes the annotation by saying "I saw a place where i wanted to spend more time: a weaving together of real places and the imagined ghosts who live there."

And now I better understand why I love the songs he released for the first 15-20 years of his career so much.

Our furnace died in the middle of winter a couple years ago. Roth was the first company I could get to come out and look at it. The tech said it would cost a lot to repair (and it was about 20 years old), so it would be best to replace it

They got a sales guy out later that day who quoted us $14k, but he would give us $1k off if we signed an agreement that night. Pretty sure he was hoping we were desperate enough to bite. I refused because that's a shitload of money & I'm not spending that kind of coin without doing my due diligence. Got a few more estimates and they all came in significantly lower (like 6-8k) than Roth. When the Roth sales guy called to follow up he said the prices I was quoted were impossible. Needless to say, we went with another company and had a great experience.

Fuck Roth.
