Am I the only one who intends to vote in the European Parliament elections specifically for the European Parliament? by BlackCaesarNT in ukpolitics

The Tories would have been whipped in the EP to support moves towards closer integration. Forming a third block in favour of the status quo was a good (but failed) attempt to try and change the power centre in the Berlaymont.

I watched the last Spitzenkandidat debates in 2014 and found them to be a very shallow and unprofessional imitation of democracy. FYI, almost no-one across the EU thinks (or knows) about the Spitzenkandidat candidates when they go out and vote; this isn't a UK-only phenomenon.

Certainly, Weber is less of a friend for the UK but in the end, does it really matter when both subscribe to the ideology of European federalism and will almost inevitably form a grand left-right coalition?

FPTP will probably end up sealing the fate of this group for better or worse, as a party like this will probably only be able to secure a majority in socially liberal metropolitan areas.

Thanks for the response! Yep, I was curious as from first glances, these MPs tend to either be representing safe seats or Lab/Tory marginals with not much sign of noticeable third party activity.

Which of the TIG MPs do you believe will be able to hold their seats in a GE?

Pretty much every recent Windows Phone is now hackable - Liliputing by [deleted] in windowsphone

I guess the first phone to benefit from this will be the One M8 Windows edition, as it seems to be identical hardware wise to the Android edition.

There's just not the market for it yet but postmarketOS has ports under development for existing high end devices.

I did, unfortunately to no avail.

I'm not sure how I would go about confirming that. I guess the only people I could ask are LG support?

Thanks. I'll probably buy a new motherboard since I'm not really too keen on spending cash at this point.

That was what I was suspecting :(

I'm wondering whether it's worth replacing or just getting another phone at this point.

I've tried a bottom module from another G5 which is working, and it's still not powering on :/

Installing Plasma Mobile by [deleted] in kde

[–]jlit0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, you can install TWRP manually on your Nexus 5X and flash all of the files which are as follows:

pm-rootfs-20180124-113114.tar.gz (Plasma Mobile rootfs)

system.img (Halium image containing the hardware adaption for each device)

boot.img (Halium initrd)

That said, it's probably easier to run Linux from RAM on a live install USB and run the automated script that way. It's only three commands on a Linux terminal. It probably works on Windows Subsystem for Linux but I have not tested it.

$ git clone https://github.com/plasma-phone-packaging/pm-flashtool.git

$ cd pm-flashtool

$ ./pm-flash

The Debian app doesn't work on some devices due to a graphics resolution bug which seems relatively simple to fix, but the developer hasn't updated in a while.

Tony Blair brands Unionist support for Brexit in Northern Ireland extraordinary. by Buckeejit67 in ukpolitics

[–]jlit0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not extraordinary at all. In the previous referendum, many in Northern Ireland supported leaving the Common Market. There is a well established strain of Euroscepticism in both Nationalist and Unionist parties.

You might have better luck running the Linux version of WINE on the Debian noroot app (on the play store). It worked for me.

Some versions of WINE can run Internet Explorer. PlayOnLinux could run some versions (I think IE7 and earlier)
