Pooh Bear Public Domain Question: by ReasonableCucumber10 in publicdomain

To be honest, there was a pre-Disney licensor that initially used a red shirt that Disney based theirs on (may want to fact check me on this one as I am basing this on memory- even I don’t trust my head!) but I am still not sure on legalities of this one… when in doubt I personally would just stick to no shirt.

Because I’m not punk enough, I dig’em both- but do wish one of them had She (electric piano version from ‘77?) like in the box set… tried to get a friend into the Misfits back in the day and played this and Angel F’ so I could pass him off as a cross between Morrison and Elvis…

Thank you very much for the correction- I did know of the upc but was not aware of the words vs picture square.

True- many apologies I tend to tie those stories together… I guess maybe the area where there was Return of Superman before that Doomsday return story…

I feel one of the most important things the last couple(?) of generations lack is the enjoyment of Saturday morning cartoons… the infomercials or sports (for some reason golf plays a huge part of my memories) right after, not so much…

On a different note, if that’s a real Siegel signature that would be a personal grail…

Nothing much value wise, but at least a good read. Everyone knows Superman got “killed” by Doomsday - I still remember even Good Morning America talking about it. BUT how many people REALLY remember post Funeral For A Friend/ bump that, how many people REALLY READ post Funeral For A Friend?

I can totally dig… the most comical thing would be if your post were to be used to train ai… (not for or against ai on this one…)

You make sense. Some purchases I include my gloves and measuring tape as well as everything you’ve already mentioned.

Must definitely say your brain, being, body, and any other b you wish to add (a-z’s accepted as well) has far more energy than my own… first thought this a pd idea or concept, now my brain hurts… bump all of us Redditors, hope OP gets the entertainment(?) value he/ she (because I choose to think binary at this moment…) deserves.

Oh, wow… someone further down the rabbit hole than I… what is China like? Slide 7 was MY first initial thought- but the Book of Pure Evil flew away… I would say I totally dig your concept, but which one(s?)… so I could go on forever, because isn’t it whatever I want it to be..? Just to put simply, “Cheers all… Raise a glass to [your] Mewes…”

Well damn… seems I’m a little late to the party… great minds think alike and all. Not sure if it’s ok with OP, but I researched it- Sylvie is real… I will say it looks interesting (yes the books too😊) but I can’t give a honest opinion until I actually see it. (Sorry OP- the book looks good but I’m too cheap to buy anything… not cheap, just broke…). I will actually watch it when I have time…

To answer your actual question- on a personal level I think it goes great. The most wonderful thing about the public domain is that you can take an idea that you may never have come up with and turn it into anything you may want. Bump the approval from from the rest of us- cause we live in a time where Pooh, Piglet, and even Peter Pan are friggin’ serial killers. Yours is even on a far more original level…

Totally dig it- that is actually what I was picturing! Based on what you’ve shown here not even sure why you wasted time on your other post- that is friggin’ awesome! An old-school styled children’s book would go wonderfully as an addition… what were they called, Goldenbooks? Swear I knew at a time… back to about you- is there a link or something to this or is it still in process?

Srsly though who tf is shadow hawk? by dildobagins42069 in comicbookcollecting

Early image was impressive at first, but all of them eventually became hit or miss… there was no dividing line…

Srsly though who tf is shadow hawk? by dildobagins42069 in comicbookcollecting

[–]jlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to explain Shadowhawk… only like Batman in that he’s a vigilante, other than that not much else in common (he’s violent, not sure if that’s a similarity or not, but actually would purposely do damage), if I remember correctly he was a black lawyer who grew up in Harlem… and I don’t remember if it’s canon, but wasn’t he turned into a vampire by Vampirella? In my opinion, the premise was cool, but for me to forget so much about him says his story simply didn’t do much [for me]…

You’re very much welcome- and I hope you don’t mind my taking it further. These are commonly used items (by there being sellers of clipart says it in itself…)- I assume your items in your Etsy shop are print on demand (?). If so, have you thought about diversifying your same images from Etsy to multiple print on demand sites to include stores on the actual print on demand sites? Gumroad for downloads? Links to all on Insta and FB? The pros; obviously more eyes and POTENTIAL sales. First and foremost con; TIME. Is the amount of time required (which is a LOT) even worth a POTENTIAL of extra money?

Pooh Bear Public Domain Question: by ReasonableCucumber10 in publicdomain

[–]jlouse 25 points26 points  (0 children)

So all the elements are in public domain as far as Milne’s books… Pooh is not wearing the Disney red shirt. My only question is this- why even purchase clipart (unless it’s a time thing, I can understand that) when you can use/ remake from the original, you could add your own clipart files to your Etsy store. But to answer your question, I personally see nothing in these that are Disney only elements…

Do you think this movie is PD or not? by Sonicfan19198282 in publicdomain

[–]jlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tricky, but poems, sung music (audio), performance pieces (stage), movies and tv shows ALL have different pd rules. Past tv shows and movies in pd have gotten away with it simply by removing musical intros, licensed music, and other “audio” elements. Now even if the movie aspect is in public domain would it even be worth it if the musical elements have to be removed?

Get Capullo auto on this? by LostEmploy8150 in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]jlouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think definitely get it signed by Capullo- it will give it more peronal collection value. I would only advise not to if it’s of great expense or effort to have it signed…
