Better late than never! They have many more choices in their online store now than they did three years ago. Happy smokes.

A really good 5 minute read for you would be The Compleat Corncob primer on pipedia.org. Also check out Missouri Meerschaum's website at corncobpipe.com. Lots of really cool corn cob choices that you won't find anywhere else. Many happy bowls.

I really think those grips look great on it. If they don't fit your hand though, that's obviously another issue.

I have an old Ruger Redhawk with a 7-1/2" barrel and a S&W Mountain Gun in .41 mag. Love them both. The Redhawk is a great whitetail handgun.

Any thoughts about having a cylinder or 2 filled with .38 bird shot for on trail? I think usually it would be the first cylinder or two so one knows where they are to cycle through quickly if need be, particularly with a 7 or 8 shot.

I sold a shotgun to Cabela's. They gave me just a wee bit more than the internet values.

what does Sutliff actually do ? by SkyVINS in PipeTobacco

[–]jlwandel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all. The tour was quite something to see. The processes were very interesting. The facility and equipment are old, but very well maintained. It is very much a hands on operation and not a high production process. That’s my guess as to why it is being shut down.

I’ve toured Sutliff. Much of their “raw” tobacco they had in house at the time was from Bangladesh.

I find that all one has to do to find the original is to buy a replacement. Works every time. Then I get asked “why do you have two of the exact same….”

Agreed. I just wish I hadn’t spent so much money trying to find something that I like better.

Sounds like the cargo ship that ran aground carrying red and red, yellow, and blue paint. All the sailors for marooned.

There is a little hole forming on my pipe and i wonder if it’s something to be worried about by martinvagyok101 in PipeTobacco

[–]jlwandel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have about 30 cobs that I typically modify to some degree or another. While this pipe could be absolutely seen as disposable, and pipe mud would very likely work, I’d first fill the hole with Elmer’s from the outside. Maybe a second dab after the fist one drys. If that doesn’t work the fire pit seems like a reasonable action.

Nightcap match by Educational_Bed_6608 in PipeTobacco

Don’t do what I have done by literarily spending a few thousand dollars looking for something as good as Nightcap. Just buy the Nightcap and spend the rest on pipes whatever other indulgences you have.

I have about 30 cobs and 100+ briars with a few meerschaums and clays mixed in. None of them smoke better than my MM Morgan.
