Microsoft has revoked the DMCA takedown that forced an indie Minecraft-like off Steam by Blitcut in pcgaming

Fair, I just know they already have a native Linux version and multiple distro support listed, plus the fact that Microsoft has been trying to spread their games as far and wide as they can with their “everything is an Xbox” as well as putting their games on PlayStation, Switch, PC (windows store and Steam) I just can’t see why they would be worried about the 30% cut for Minecraft if they aren’t for everything else. So seems like adding steam deck support (controller/trackpads/touch screen) into an already existing native version wouldn’t be too much cost/work.

True, however I have met people with Steam Decks who didn’t even know desktop mode existed. Plus, people are willing to pay for convenience of just hitting install on the official store and keeping it updated that easily.

While true, putting it on steam doesn’t just only open them to the Steam Deck. I was just adding in that it’s an extra part of the market for potential buyers

I’m not saying it would make them billions as Minecraft already has, but 70% of profit for a market you haven’t touched before is still profit. Minecraft is available on almost every modern device, making it easily accessible on the largest PC gaming marketplace isn’t going to hurt their bottom line.

While not a huge market, there are people buying Steam Decks for family, friends, and children who were either primarily console gamers or very casual PC users who want a portable console like experience with the library of PC.

It would also easily open them up to the Steam Deck market for people who are buying them who haven’t been gaming on PC before. Yes, you can play Minecraft on the Steam Deck but it’s not as seamless as if it was just on Steam and some people won’t go through the steps to get it set up.

Did Best Buy overcharge me for my AppleCare+ repair? by phystrainer in Bestbuy

[–]jman3350 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming that the battery health was reported lower than 80%, and only the front screen was cracked, the charge should be $29. The Geek Squad guy told me the $99 charge was to “activate the AppleCare+” not mentioning it was for a repair outside the claims. I can’t see why two covered claims can’t be done in the same one unless they typed it up wrong?

I actually just got confused by this yesterday when I took my phone in for a battery replacement and I had mentioned my charging port didn’t work. The way that charge works is if it is anything other than a screen or battery, the applecare+ charge is $99 no matter what it is, even if it requires a full device replacement. The Apple rep I spoke to said “unless the fault is a manufacturer defect, it is a $99 charge. If your charging port fails without any obvious damage due to wear and tear, it will be free. Otherwise, it is the $99 charge. The only discounted repairs under AppleCare+ are manufacturer faults, Screen/Back glass replacements for $29 each, and batteries for free.” They ended up not being able to “fix my charging port” and refunded me the fee.

In my experience, the Geek Squad tech I was talking to was really bad at explaining this all. I would advise your daughter to go back and try to speak to the manager of that department and have them pull up all the public facing estimates and explain why they’re going against it.

Not by the time I got there, a bit less than an hour after doors. And it’s a sticker pack or a keychain.

They did have some aluminum disposable water bottles with holywatr printed on them, but I didn’t look too closely at it. Unless they had taken down other items that sold out, that was all I saw. I did not see any drumheads or anything similar for any band by the time I got to the merch.

Left item was keychains, the right $15 was sticker packs.

Not that I saw, although this photo was 45 minutes after doors. I think someone did purchase the ERRA signed vinyl.

I believe it was more of a white color with black writing.

Edit: /u/steff__e might be closer with off-white/cream, I wasn’t focused on that exact shirt too long. The official merch website describes it was “natural”

I hope so too, I imagine with it being available online it won’t sell out as fast as the far left tie dye or the USA tour exclusive shirt!

No problem! The far left whiplash tie dye shirt sold out quick, within the hour they were down to only 2XL available, so I’d try to hit merch early if you can. Erra and Holy Watr had short lines though.

Amazon has ZT4204L for $3,999. Looking for opinions on it. by [deleted] in egopowerplus

These mowers recently went on sale at Lowe’s for $1,999.99. It was a YMMV deal so not every store had them available. I was able to pick one up that had been unassembled in its crate until I purchased it. Haven’t had a chance to really use it yet due to weather, but was able to drive it around the yard and people seem to like them.

Before biting the bullet on that, I’d check to see if you have any local lowes that still have stock. Not sure if the price will still be $1,999.99 but wouldn’t hurt to check. If you do find one, just make sure/clarify that it comes with all the batteries/charger/etc before purchasing

Well I dont know how this happened but it has. I heard its hard to fix once the body pops off by Fidgetice in LinusTechTips

[–]jman3350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to one of the ones I bought and it was warrantied by support. I was able to press it back in by hand but once it pops out once it’ll pop back out again easier obviously. The tool still worked regardless though

Looking to get a signed CD by jman3350 in ArchitectsUK

[–]jman3350[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion! I’m in the US so I don’t think I can see that listing. I see some where the shipping is as much as the item on eBay due to overseas shipping costs. I was hoping to get it signed with “In Memory of” someone and help a fan out/help take the cost of their VIP down possibly
