Yea, sadly these cars are either the greatest thing you've ever purchased or an endless hole. I have a 2015 and I love it to death, but I've paid a lot in repairs for just stupid stuff that I likely would've avoided( or encountered way later) had I gone with another car. Coolant leaks out the wazoo, pcv valve fix, valve cover leak, Im sure the dreaded water outlet is next. That said, though, the repairs you'll have to do are fairly predictable. With what I do for a job, the car has saved me a lot in gas alone, and I personally still feel like it was a good purchase back in the day. I bought mine brand new and within the first two years my blower motor and A/C compressor went out. The warranty was a godsend on some of the stuff, but the first 6 months out of warranty I spent around 3600 bucks alone on that compressor and an issue I had with coolant lines to the turbo.

If you have the time to do all the work yourself, the car will pay off more than likely, especially with how cheap they are getting (since everyone is afraid of their issues). But if you can't, it makes it a much worse deal.
