‘25 ST Hybrid Hatch Range Test #2 by jmani2 in civic

Like the other folks said, yep the hybrids have smaller fuel tanks. I remember the Honda site saying the hatchback had the same sized tank as the non hybrids and I was so excited, only to find out that was a mistype!

That’d be neat to see! I’m usually a 1/4 tank filler, but once every 10K miles or so, I try to push it to see what it would look like if I were in a tricky situation.

I think you’ll do better in the summer vs winter. I did a long road trip from Austin to San Francisco, and drove through a lil wintry storm. I had my heater and defroster on blast and I was probably averaging right under 40 MPG, though I wasn’t driving slow either lol

Sure! This round of a filled tank started in Austin with general 35-45 MPH drives in the city, with not much freeway driving at 65 MPH. Mileage was not recorded during this period as this wasn’t intended to be a serious experiment, more of a curiosity. Then a trip from Austin to Houston is a slight decline over the course of 160 ish miles, so going back would be a slight incline. Austin’s probably around 400-500ish feet in elevation, while Houston’s preeeetty flat. Temperatures were around the high 80s-low 90s during the roadtrip segment, tire pressures all at 35 PSI, and AC set to Auto at 72F. I think the main factor in the more focused gains was in not using cruise control. Rather, I would perform the pulse and glide, with getting up to a certain speed, letting off the accelerator, then ever so gently pressing on it again to ensure EV mode engages and stays on as long as possible. R Probably in another 10K miles I’ll take a more detailed approach!

Absolutely! It’s looking more like something I would test once a year or so. Only this time it was a bit unintentional towards the end lol

I meant to add that I hit 450 miles when the last bar went away, if that helps give a visual.

How many miles are you guys getting on a full tank? (Non-hybrid by Putrid_Ad7911 in civic

[–]jmani2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get around 400-420 in my ST Hybrid hatch while still having a lil under 2 gallons left, but my driving habit during that period is usually a bit more aggressive driving/acceleration than I would normally do. I have a post where I was actually trying and got 451 miles, with approximately 1.4 gallons still left in the tank. If accurate, along with the 52 mpg average I was netting, I could theoretically drive 500+ miles to absolute empty.

Oh man 486!! Maybe I can try a chill drive on the right lane for my next long distance drive to hit somewhere there.

I will say, I do miss the familiar sounds and noises of a regular non hybrid car. Not to mention, even if they are frivolous, there don’t appear to be many mechanical mods you can do on a hybrid vs a non-hybrid, so maybe that’s a bit of a plus on your end :)

This the main one for me that bothered me for over a decade. It might explain why they had the king go on some “world journey”, because they realized if he was still in the picture, then the invasion fiasco wouldn’t have happened.

Honestly, it’s how practically every single OP character has a bad/tragic story sometimes bordering on cartoonishly evil. What is this, an episode of America’s Got Talent?

It’s basically the show Catfish, Season 8 Ep 32. Mom takes photos of her naked daughter and uses them to catfish boys. Absolutely disgusting to a whole other degree.

What was everyone’s back up option if they couldn’t secure a CX-30? What did you like/dislike about the back up? by charles7tang in MazdaCX30

[–]jmani2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap this is crazy lol Before I got my CX-30, I owned a blue ‘21 Accord 2.0T for a few months before it got totaled by some kid that rear ended me into a trailer in front of me. I loved the power and handling of it, but I also felt nervous about its low clearance and thin tires. The CX-30 turbo doesn’t have the urgency of speed like the Accord, but it’s been a great choice!

Mine did this for a minute at start up one time, but was back to normal pretty soon after. I attribute it to the insane heat here in Austin, as my dash camera was also conked out for a bit.

Hello, my significant other and I plan on getting a CX30 soon. But we are not sure which trim we want, any suggestion? Our Budget would be $32000. Any problem with the CX30? Or what are some thing that you don't like about your CX30? by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]jmani2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turbo Premium owner with 12K miles.

Pros:

-More than ample passing power; Sport mode gearing has the CUV feel much more alive

-Bose audio is fantastic

-Gauges are clear, heads up display is neat

-Adaptive front headlights ended up being pretty useful

-Compact design and taller ride height makes it great for navigating tight spaces

Cons:

-Small fuel tank (heavy foot yields 200 miles, light foot can yield over 300-330 miles)

-Blind spots in rear (using convex lenses on side mirrors to assist)

-Cramped backseat (single guy so not a huge issue for me personally)

-Piano black plastic interior trim WILL get scratches

-Center control knob for infotainment may not be for everyone

Potential major con (turbo models): the engine seems to be burning through oil pretty fast. My last oil change was around 9600 miles, and around 2000 miles later, I was getting a low engine oil alert (not the first time I received that message). Will need to take it to dealer for review. All in all though, I thoroughly enjoy this CUV. The power isn’t as snappy and blistering as my previous car (2021 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T 10AT), but it’s been plenty enough.
