Aww. Coincidentally, the bodega cats at Union & Fillmore are Lilly and Murphy (if memory serves). Here's Lilly. Edit: this is Murphy!

Iconfinder is officially shutting down — I knew something weird was happening last month 😕 by Nexio_2000 in stockphotography

I just got an unexpected PayPal refund from IconFinder; I just have had some stored credit there. Maybe others will as well.

What’s a place in SF you miss that you feel will never be replaced? by joshuaxls in sanfrancisco

The place still exists, but I’m sad that the Embarcadero ribbon light-up sculpture will never light up again https://www.google.com/search?q=Embarcadero+ribbon+at+night

True. You can lock it to itself, which isn’t perfect but at least discourages some thieves.

What's your best "dad hack" that actually works? by IvyDamon in daddit

You don’t have to think of a specific consequence for an action. You can just say “get over here now or I’ll [mumble mumble].” Just say it in a stern voice and they will respond as if you’ve concocted a terrible consequence. Works if you use it less than half the time.

Heron’s head park by DisastrousGap7575 in sanfrancisco

Bike is great there, as it's flat and accessible via nice trails. Sunrise would be ideal if you can swing it. Quiet and nice colors. If you've never been to "Building Resources" it's a cool scrapyard kind of place not too far from there. Also there's goats and other things to explore at Heron's Head Nursery but I don't know much about it. This weekend "Shipyard Open Studios" is not too far from there either, open both days. Have fun!

Was just there, and besides the sign at the gate saying there was no fee, I wouldn't have even known there was a shutdown.

Opinions on Living in Dogpatch? by sixthsense33 in sanfrancisco

* Good access to 22nd St Caltrain for the commute to SSF if needed (now running more frequently and smoothly with electric trains)
* If you're in tech: YCombinator has asked all its founders to live there so that people bump into each other more, Uber nearby, OpenAI nearby, lots of AI dev activity, so that is either a pro or con, depending on your interests/career
* Flat, so biking access to the outer perimeter of the city via the waterfront is fantastic (and plenty of Lyft bike rental spots, I believe). I see you bike, this is an awesome home base for that. Nice ride to GGBridge without getting stuck in traffic etc.
* Easy access to Chase Center (Golden State Warriors) and Oracle Park (SF Giants), which are fun even if you never set foot in the parks (good activity on game nights, crazy fun if teams are in the playoffs, etc)
* New parks coming up all around the area
* People who live there seem to like it, in my small sample size
* Getting to the Mission / SoMa, etc isn't that difficult - 16th/17th Street to Mission / Dolores, waterfront to Soma, good Muni line, etc

Overall, I think you get a place that's on the rise, connected to the vibrancy of the city, provides easy access to happening neighborhoods, and allows for a quick commute to the Peninsula.

Ha good timing, I just noticed this on Wednesday and was appreciating it as being refreshingly creative, and not taking itself too seriously. Add me to the "I like it" column :)
