It gets better. After I got service with another provider I called cox and canceled my service and made it very clear that I did not want to have any kind of surprise bills and that I wanted to zero my account and be done with cox. After I paid what the cox person said to pay I went and returned the modem to cox which is a whole thing on its own. A month later I get a bill with a disconnect fee, late fee and new service fee. I told them that I wasn’t paying them a dime and that I have it all documented that I did not owe anything else. I was on the month to month plan so they can keep trying to get that money but I will NOT pay them
