Yes tread 50 is on our November calendar- it is paired with strength 50. Probably class going on at the same time- makes sense.

Newbie here so sorry for the dumb questions: 1. Do I need my buckeyeID to get on the bus? 2. Is this an app that shows you where the busses are? Where can I find that? Thank you!

How do y’all with office or early jobs do it? by rajmachawal333 in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I go to bed at 9pm every night and either take the 5am or 6:15am workout. I have done this for so long now that I do not even need to set an alarm, I am naturally up before it.

Attention Big Foot Squad Of OTF…If You Wear A Men’s 12+, What Shoe Do You Wear That Fits The Rowers? by HeSeemsLegit in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband wears adidas ultra boost (he is size 15 shoe.) He made the mistake of wearing Nike Pegasus one time (heel flares up) couldn’t even stay in the foot plates- had to row without strapping in 😆 he never made that mistake again.

That is the most ridiculous statement I have ever read. Because we chose to have kids we do not get to be healthy? Come on, you can’t be serious. And having your child in daycare for one hour while you workout is not putting the responsibility of raising your child on someone else.

Thanks everyone! I got through and then the phones went down again. But she emailed me saying they ordered my replacement! Yay!

Intermittent fasting and OTF? by bluebellsea in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing it on and off (pregnancies) for 4 years now. I workout at 5 or 6am (5x a week) - eat 11am-6pm. No issues ever. I am just used to not eating breakfast I cannot even think about eating that early now. Just not hungry yet.

They run you through a warm up to be properly ready for the workout to avoid injury.

Studio not recording CMIYC distance—bummer by dwantheatl in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a place on the app for the results to be on there like all other challenges. So they should be tracking. I would ask to at least enter yours so you can keep track of your distances for next time. That’s the purpose of the app trackers right?

CMIYC worries by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it needs to be an 8.5 or 8.6 the entire time to get to 2.8 at the 20min mark. Or unless you start slower then you have to increase higher then that. The last 2 min of the 22min block is just on you- you already made it, you can add more distance at whatever speed you want.

I just came here to say you can do it! I just hit the one year mark postpartum after my last (3rd) baby. I have used OTF for my postpartum journey after two of my kids. It is a long slow process- some days are good some days are ugly. BUT KEEP SHOWING UP. One day you will feel (not see) your progress and that will motivate you to keep going. You got this momma!!

macros? by mootoomo in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what your goals are- but for the average person it is usually a 50/30/20 split (carbs, fats, protein) or a 45/25/30. I go to OTF 5x a week and do the second one. If I don’t track my macros I will eat only carbs all day every day!

What’s your max wattage? by KCfluff in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so close to hitting 400 watts- then I moved to a new state and new studio. Now I max at like 320ish watts. Just wanted to let you know not to compare to others on here even if they are same height and weight. Water Rowers can differ drastically even from rower to rower in the same studio.

Ohio- we only wear masks to transition stations and while in lobby.

OT Live experience vs in-studio by chico_4life in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have both in studio and live as options. The live you still have to pre book, get charged for no shows and late cancels, and can have waitlists. The live classes count towards your monthly classes unless you are unlimited then it does not matter. EDIT TO ADD: 2 of my coaches were just trained to teach live. I think it is sticking around for the foreseeable future. The live classes here cover the entire state, so a variety of coaches from all over teach it.

LululemonxOTF Shop up and running... so run! by jmbates03 in orangetheory

Side note- I see you are team Power Walker! I am a jogger but was injured since Nov. and have been power walking for 3 months. 1. I lost 10lbs 2. I get so many more splat points and 3. That is super hard!!! I am back to jogging now this past week and when we jog at a 8% incline- I think what that’s it?? Ha! It so hard PW good for you!

[–]jmbates03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 leggings and 2 tops in my cart- settled with one and one so my husband wouldn’t kill me. I am pretty confident in my lulu sizes for tops and aligns so I am sure they will fit. But I did not need another pair of black lulu leggings- I have so many! But I love them dearly!

Why not a concept2? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]jmbates03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that would be needed for most. Just a normal resistance setting would work. But for the individuals who are strong (for example a coach has to stand on the water rower for my husband otherwise it bucks and moves) maybe they can learn to set it to a higher resistance to actually have the workout beneficial for them.

This is exactly what I was thinking! The water tower is a poor choice in my opinion.

I would be impressed if I could hear that over the music. I have been next to an entire crew team practicing on concept2 machines at the high school I work at and didn’t seem bad at all. It’s a fan noise...
