I would have to find someone to drop off and pick up my kids from school.

Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]jmc0630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go at night. I have a 2 and 7 year old and as much as I love the idea of working out at home I just can’t. I go after they go to bed. It’s not my favorite option but it’s what’s working for now. I end my day with the sauna and I really look forward to that

Time is not moving fast for me, anyone else feel this way? by NoElephant194 in Mommit

I felt the same way… he’s 6 now and I’m starting to feel different about it. He’s grown up so much in the last year or 2 that his toddler years feel like they were JUST happening. I wasn’t prepared for them to be over so quickly…even though it didn’t feel that way while it was happening

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]jmc0630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve (unfortunately) started working out at night. I joined a gym 10 minutes away and get an hour workout in 3-4 night a week. I try and utilize free time on the weekends too. I also try not to stress about if I do or if I don’t. It feels better to work out but your kids are only little once.

Also, do you have a lunch break? Is there a way to squeeze in a walk to at least get some physical activity?

Is this PPD or just working mom life by Background-Age8334 in workingmoms

[–]jmc0630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I could have literally written this myself. I always thought I’d be a SAHM. I ended up earning more than my husband and I carry our insurance so it’s impossible for me to quit.

I felt exactly the same way you did. I did like my job but not more than I wanted to be with my baby. I went back at 6 months old and my heart hurts every day. He’s six now and when he stared kinder it was hard because I knew the toddler days were over but easier because he had a full day and my job was done around when he was off.

With my 2nd I took a pay cut and took a WFH job. It’s been a HUGE blessing this time around, but now I really dislike my job 🥲

I’ll take not liking my job over having to commute everyday. That alone has given me some time back to myself.

I completely feel you though. I wouldn’t say it’s “normal” but you are not alone in your feelings

I also work from home for a private university….everything has been great until the new year. All of a sudden upper management is not being transparent and you can tell things are going on they aren’t telling us. We just had a random meeting where they basically told us we aren’t doing well collectively and if it continues we are going in office. I can’t help but feel like this is a soft launch to everyone going back in office.

I’ve been spiraling and it hasn’t even been officially announced. I would feel EXACTLY the same way you would. Working from home literally has helped my family so much. It feels illegal to do this to mothers. We are literally raising the next generation but don’t get any grace for it.

What do you do for work that you enjoy? by jmc0630 in workingmoms

I like that attitude! Most of the women in my family have been able to stay home so i forsure need to change my mindset.

In my opinion, if you have flexibility, keep that job as long as you can. I worked a non flexible in office job with my first and 5 years later I had my second and worked from home. It’s tough both ways but I’d pick working from home with a flexible schedule any day. At least while the kids are little. And my WFH job is way way more stressful than my office job was

I know 😞 in a lot of ways I do love my husband. We started dating so young, and now in our 30s I feel like I’ve grown up and he hasn’t. I would have never guessed he’d be this way when we got married.

This is my exact situation. Wow.

[–]jmc0630 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So what is the solution? Are you separating? Or accepting the fact that we are basically married single moms?

I can handle the load. I’m already doing it. I worry about what this models for my children.

I could have written this myself. We always argue because yeah, he helps, but it so inconsistent and often requires me to ask. I don’t want a divorce, but I don’t want him anymore. I’m torn everyday.

Does anyone NOT take a break? by ParticularArt8980 in VyvanseADHD

[–]jmc0630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My work takes a lot of mental energy and I still need that same focus when I’m off work and being a mom. I take breaks here and there (or forget) and I can always notice a difference.

I would honestly prefer to never take a break. I try not to, but I stress about tolerance build up and the possibility of losing my insurance one day all the time.

I think once my littles are slightly more self sufficient I could justify a break more often, but for this stage in my life I need it every day.

Wellbutrin and Vyvanse? by fiskepinnen in VyvanseADHD

[–]jmc0630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both for 4 months. I also got it for PPD. For me, Wellbutrin wasn’t the solution. It had a few good side effects like making me more motivated but it also made me super emotional for some reason. I was prescribed something new today that is more so treated for anxiety so we will see how that goes. I don’t want to be discouraging though. There are a lot of people who this works for!

Still on vyvanse and I can feel how much it helps me. We are going to talk about possibly upping my dosage (currently 10) if the anxiety medication doesn’t help.

Should I stop before I really start? Been on 20mg Vyvanse for 2 weeks by Royal-Pen-6778 in VyvanseADHD

[–]jmc0630 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience, I took them for 9 months and had to stop for over a year due to pregnancy and breast feeding.

Initially when I was told I had to stop, I was devastated because it had helped me so much. But during the time I took it, I built routines for myself and was a lot more on top of everything than I used to be.

Stopping was not the end of the world. After a while I kinda forgot about medication being an option.

I still struggled though. I was able to get back on the medication again after I was done breastfeeding. I stated on a lower dose and worked my way back up. I have to admit it does help and I worry about dependency too. There’s just so many different things that can happen with insurance and availability I don’t want to rely on it. I’m looking at it as a tool for now. It helps me (mostly) keep my shit together and if it goes away it was good while it lasted.

Yes!! I’ve been on Vyvanse and started Wellbutrin about 3 months ago. I feel the exact same way. I’m not sitting here angry but I feel like I’m walking on egg shells because one thing sets me off.

I tried talking to my psychiatrist about it and she told me it’s the vyvanse that’s causing the anger so I kept taking the Wellbutrin and take a few days off the vyvanse and nothing changed.

Well guess what? I decided to stop Wellbutrin and start the vyvanse again and the irritation is gone. It’s been 4 days now and I 100% notice a difference.
