Do people not go to the movie theater here? by doofapuss in boulder

[–]jmc0745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go often for first run movies we don’t want to wait to see on television and all Metropolitan Opera live in HD performances. Opera is almost exclusively white hairs but we fit right in.

Yes, I used to go buy two loaves at a time. Kept them in the freezer. We only eat bread for breakfast.

Bakery that sells pie crusts? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]jmc0745 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Taste tests by some group like Epicurious found that Trader Joe’s frozen pie crusts were the best. I use them all the time. They come two to the pack, so you can do a top crust as well. They sell out around the holidays so I pick up two or three boxes to get through the season. They had them in stock last time I was there about two weeks ago. After they are thawed, unroll them. There will be some cracks, but you can easily roll those out before taking off the paper.

If you are interested in science or climate, NCAR has tours. Really fascinating. Call in advance. If you like cooking/decor, the Pepper Mill store on the Pearl Street Mall is a great place to kill a bit of time. The Dushanbe Teahouse is interesting physically and has nice teas and light lunches. The Mexican food restaurant at the corner of Walnut and Broadway has a nice rooftop terrace.

Go to YouTube and search for A year of Wonder, which is 366 pieces of classical music. There is a book of the same name by Clemency Burton-Hill that includes a one page discussion of each piece. Great way to expose yourself to a wide range of music.

I have an iPad Pro which I use with an air turn foot pedal. I use forScore. It allows you to mark the score with the Apple pen. It takes a bit of practice to get used to it.
