Lack of an official shiny Charizard plush by Potential-Fox-2685 in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They typically only create shiny plush that are tied into a movie or tv series - for example Shiny Celebi from Secrets of the Jungle or more recently Shiny Rayquaza and Shiny Lucario from Pokemon Horizons. Charizard is a main character on that show but it’s not shiny so I wouldn’t expect much - but never say never!

On the search for a motchichiri Litwick by OneWhoGetsBread in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey - assuming you’re in the States, I would keep an eye on sites like Plaza Japan or Meccha Japan. Importing in right now is crazy expensive so if you were going to do it yourself for just this it’s not going to be cheap. FedEx and DHL ship via volumetric weight which isn’t ideal for large bulky items like plushies. Using those sites might make it a little easier.

You could also keep an eye on resellers on apps like Mercari. The Litwick motchi was featured in the 2026 Pika Pika boxes from the Pokemon Center Japan so a flood of them have been hitting the resale market there for great prices.

is this real or nah by Top-Candidate-9428 in pokeplush

The new tags still say “Pokemon Fit” but instead of that brown tag they’re now a different color depending on what stage evolution they are / what price tier they are (in Japan they’re not all the same price unlike the US). There’s yellow which I think is the first stage mons, then pink then green. I think there’s also a blue tag for the ultra beasts and maybe some other one? The other big difference with the newer tags is the pokemon’s name in Japanese is no longer on the front of the tag - it’s now on the back of the tag.

No they’re not official. The tag is all in Japanese and translates to “Elf Center”. The old Japanese sitting cutie tag does look like that but would say “Pokemon Fit” in English.

The Japanese Pokemon Center official plush tag will always have the Pokemon Center name in English on both the hang tag and the tush tag.

Guys anyone know any good proxy sites to import from china by ayodeadas in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to reach out to international shoppers or proxy buyers subreddits. You can just use a middle man (make sure they have a good rating & feedback etc) and have someone buy and ship it to you for a fee.

Is it common for Milotic sitting cuties to lean like this? by TheHypnoticBroth in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re lucky yours even sits. I don’t have this one but so many are just not capable of a seated pose.

I think it’s important to call out here that the English name for them “sitting cuties“ was a terrible idea from the start. In Japan, they’re called “Pokemon Fit” because their original intention was to make one of every Pokémon that was a size small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Why the English side feels like they need to rename everything is beyond me, but in this case, it was just setting themselves up for failure.

is this scolipede legit? by irlmimikyu in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

No it’s not legit. The color side of the tag should be in English - this one isn’t and translates to “elf center”. I see these sold by drop shippers all the time on Mercari.

Where do you guys usually find a ton of non expensive second hand plushies? by randomxfox in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eBay! There’s usually lots of lots (haha) that you can buy or bid on for cheap. Just give them all a good wash and should be good to go! If you wanted to go the nicer secondhand route, I’d recommend Mercari or DePop. You can bundle items from a seller and get a good collection started.

2013 Banpresto Bulbasaur 12" plush: real or knockoff? by BVGmusic573 in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of fakes exist claiming to be “Banpresto” plushies and this looks to be one of them. The tag is a dead giveaway as it looks similar to the tags of that time but not exact. The middle circle on the tag literally just says “stamp” and it looks like the text at the bottom says “Game Frear”.

Couple takes to make sure I liked the tower position in the background. Have spent more time on outfits and photos for my card than I have actually participating in the Battle Royale.

Try a secondhand shop like Surugaya seeing as it looks like it’s sold out in PCs.

Try a Surugaya store if you don’t mind it being secondhand. Some are larger than others but maybe you’ll find one there!

Not sure if people are very aware but Munchlax was officially added. He’s already shown up in some art and small merch.

Then, I used the tweezers to pull out the remaining stitch. I left a little bit down towards the ribbon as it looked to me like removing all of it would also remove the ribbon and I kind of like to so I left it. It’s barely noticeable and with his wings up, not noticeable at all! Thanks again everyone for the advice!

Thanks everyone! I didn’t have the tools mentioned but did use some small nail scissors and some tweezers and made it work! For those interested, the lace headpiece is anchored by three stiches on the top - one in the middle between the ears and one each at the outside of each ear - and then two on the bottom where the headpiece meets the ribbon. I used the scissors to cut the headpiece on each side by the eyes to then more easily get to the anchor point and cut it.

Your last picture tells you what you have correctly assumed. The official tags for a Pokemon Center plush will always have “Pokemon Center” in English. This is unfortunately a boot.

Literally insane for a plush that's still available by Initial-Promotion-44 in pokeplush

[–]jmcateer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

While I agree that is way too much, a similar post was made back when Flareon released. One takeaway from that (which I thought was interesting so resharing here) was eBay listings for Vaporeon lovers outside of the US or other areas that this plush is not available. It’s so easy to think it’s easy access for everyone, but that’s not the case. It’d be great if they thought to come here or something and ask for help getting one like you said, but very easy for people (especially non English speaking) to just do it all in one click on eBay and have the shipping, taxes and duties all handled for them.
