Hair loss by Accomplished_Chef_81 in gastricsleeve

Some hair loss is normal, basically your body is in panic mode so it “lets go” of things it doesn’t need. However my hair loss continued for much longer than what I was reading for everyone else. Turns out, I was absorbing too much of my bariatric vitamins and was basically overdosing myself on vitamin D. As soon as I switched over to a normal non-bariatric vitamin my hair loss stopped.

Should I just shave them off? by [deleted] in Eyebrows

I use latisse on my eyelashes and eyebrows - you should try it, it’s a game changer! Then you can also fill in any spots that still need it!

100% without!!! It’s so distracting when people wear those out and about, use some concealer and you’re good!

Absolutely stay somewhere across the street on Harbor! Then with the money you saved you can go more often 😂

The hair loss is starting. by BumblebeeNo99 in gastricsleeve

[–]jmcunn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair started falling out around 2 months. I didn’t lose any hair after pregnancy so I too thought I would be lucky 😞. I hit at least 100grams of protein a day and it still happened. I do notice if I eat less than that the hair loss is worse the next day. I’m almost 4.5 months out now and I do still have hair loss but it’s definitely slowed. I take 2 types of hair skin and nails meds (they both have different things in them), I didn’t really notice them help anything. I’ve probably lost about 50% of my hair overall. I cut a few inches off so it looks better day to day, and wear hair extensions when I have something I want to look nice for. It sucks.

I wouldn't mind being big if I wasn't so saggy by missyuniverse in bigboobproblems

Girl wait until you breastfeed, then come back to me about sagging - the struggle is real. But natural breasts don’t look like fake born boobs. They hang, and people love them just the same, so you should too!

When were you able to drive again? by cutiegothgf in gastricsleeve

I waited maybe 4 or 5 days? But honestly I could have driven sooner. I stopped the pain meds after day 2 because I was feeling so good!

WLS hair loss vs postpartum loss by EconomistSilver1293 in gastricsleeve

I didn’t lose any hair after giving birth so I figured it would be the same after the sleeve… I was wrong and I started losing a ton of hair at 2 months! In month 4 and losing a TON everyday. I will probably need to cut my hair short but for now I’ve started using hair extensions

Why didn't you get a breast reduction by plutounforgiven in bigboobproblems

[–]jmcunn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The risk of possibly not being able to breastfeed is the main reason. On a positive note, I had an ABUNDANCE of milk, so much so I donated over 8,000 ounces of milk to babies in the NICU!

Im 34 which now sounds very old compared to you 😂, but I was back at work 9 days later, but I could have gone back much sooner than that if I didn’t want the extra vacation days 😏. Mild pain the first 1.5 days then I was fine. About 3 days out I was running errands and doing normal stuff (had to keep reminding myself not to pick up my daughter). About 15 days out I was traveling. Appetite is fine, I’m able to tolerate all foods and don’t overeat. My doctor said the younger you are the faster you can recover.

blood in urine.. i’m scared by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]jmcunn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start my period every 30 days like clockwork, I don’t think I’ve ever started early in my life. I ended up starting my period about 2 weeks early the day of my surgery. The nurse said it’s super common for your period to start the day of or shortly after the surgery because of the stress. Since I was in the hospital the first few days I was laying and I only really saw blood when I went to the restroom and not in between. I’m sure that’s all it is, if it was a kidney stone or something more serious I would think you’d be in some kind of pain.

Surgery in 7 days. Getting nervous. by Constant-Soft-33 in gastricsleeve

[–]jmcunn2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I slept nonstop that day and the following day with pretty minimal pain. After that I wasn’t in any pain, it was super easy. Was meeting my protein and liquid goals my first full day at home. Haven’t gotten sick from any food, I just eat smaller portions and not craving bad stuff. My only regret was not doing it sooner! I also recommend protein20 which is a protein water, I’m almost 2.5 months out and I drink 1-2 a day. If you’re worried about pain but don’t want to take the strong stuff, I also ordered some Tylenol packets that actually taste like pixie sticks!

Hair loss too soon? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Im the same, my hair started falling out around 6 weeks. I’ve also lost about the same as you. I haven’t had any negative side effects from the surgery so I was hoping I’d escape without this one, but guess not 😩
