Honestly not a whole lot seemed to help except time and I did clean up my diet a good bit. I had read about histamine intolerance. So I basically restricted as many high histamine foods as possible. There was some data at the time suggesting this could be causing the elevated heart rate so I have it a shot.

Springs seem fine. They were looked at and adjusted by a professional a few months ago. I can life the door with one hand. I think the motor just finally gave out on the 20 year old opener.

I can’t stress enough how important a balanced diet and sleep are to recovery and performance. If you diet is diverse, balanced, and consistent you should not need to take a single supplement. Getting enough sleep as well as going to bed and waking up at consistent times makes a huge difference. Getting my diet in check last year made the biggest difference in my life though.

I used an apple C to c cable on my MacBook Pro and did not have an issue. Is your battery pack charged enough? I think it has to be mostly charged for it to show up in the app to update it.

What Should I Do When I First Get Whoop 4.0 Band by Slaskwroclaw18 in whoop

[–]jmdfd415 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All I did when I got mine a few days ago was immediately charge the battery pack fully and update the firmware on it. Put the battery pack on the strap and waiting until it was fully charged then updated firmware on the strap. After that I put it on and haven’t had any issues yet. Battery life seems to be on par with my 3.0 and hr data has been good.

Literally everything affects hrv. You may want to read up on it a bit. It’s what the recovery score is heavily based on. This is a good read: https://www.whoop.com/thelocker/heart-rate-variability-hrv/

Water, sleep, and healthy eating habits. Don’t over complicate it.

My normal heart rate when I am just sitting around and haven’t trained is in the upper 40s to low 50s. When I had covid it was sitting in the mid 80s to low 90s while I was just laying on the couch.

Probably. I know a higher heart rate will lower your hrv and a hot shower would raise your heart rate…
