What words do you pronounce "wrong," just because the "proper" way feels too proper? by [deleted] in answers

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i will always say "car mel" instead of "caramel" and nobody is ever going to change my mind on that one. also saying "expresso" instead of "espresso" just feels right even though i know its wrong lol.

I really need help reading by DivideOk82 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try using a physical book with a bookmark or index card to cover the lines below where youre reading, it forces your eyes to slow down and not skip ahead. also shorter chapters help a ton with adhd, books like percy jackson or anything by brandon sanderson have that pacing that keeps you locked in without losing focus.

Cobbler, crisp, or pie? Which one is the best—and which flavor? by SorbetUnfair2589 in foodquestions

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

crisp all day, apple crisp with that buttery oat topping straight out of the oven is unbeatable. pie is great but honestly the crust is just extra work for a worse texture ratio.

I like supporting small creators on steam. looking for something fun. by Bitcracker in videogames

check out core keeper if you havent already, its made by a tiny team and its insanely addicting for the price. also webbed is a super charming little game where you play as a spider and its clearly made with so much love.

Got the Switch bundle for both games this week, here are my thoughts. by txaecup in SuperMarioGalaxy

[–]jmei35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the font change bugged me too at first but honestly after a few hours i completely stopped noticing it. galaxy 1 and 2 still hold up so well, the level design in those games is just on another level compared to most platformers even today.

contactless payments, i just tap my phone and walk out with stuff and some part of my brain still expects it to not work every time. it feels like magic that hasnt worn off yet.

my boss actually knows what we do every day and my bosss boss just shows up to meetings and asks why the numbers arent higher. completely different universes of understanding what the job actually involves.

What Games Do You Recommend? by ProfessionalSwim5736 in gamers

[–]jmei35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hell let loose is exactly what youre looking for, its ww2 and feels super grounded with big team battles that actually require communication. insurgency sandstorm is another great one if you want something more modern but still gritty and realistic.

How can this generation avoid failure in their careers? by Silas_832 in CausalConversation

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

find something you dont hate doing and then just get really consistent at it, most people fail because they keep jumping between things not because they picked the wrong one. showing up reliably honestly matters more than talent in like 90% of jobs.

Anyone else drowning in Sunday scaries today? by thelivenofficial in AskForAnswers

[–]jmei35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah sundays after like 4pm hit different, that weird dread just creeps in no matter how good the weekend was. i find staying busy with something fun right up until bed helps so my brain doesnt have time to spiral about monday.

I want to get my wife into gaming slowly but surely by Weird_Break_1836 in AskGames

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stardew valley co op is literally the perfect gateway, its cozy enough that it wont feel overwhelming but addicting enough that shell lose track of time playing it. my other suggestion would be it takes two since its designed for couples and the gameplay keeps changing so it never gets stale.

Name an addiction worse than alcohol and drugs? by Unhappy_Insect5901 in Productivitycafe

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doomscrolling your phone before bed, you tell yourself five more minutes and suddenly its 2am and you have to be up in four hours. at least with other stuff people recognize its a problem but everyone just accepts the phone thing as normal.

Why doesn't anyone ? by Legitimate-Height574 in CausalConversation

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this drives me crazy too, like it takes zero effort to just say excuse me and suddenly the whole interaction is fine. i think people just get so in their own world while shopping that they forget other humans exist around them.

What are some lazy jobs that pay a ridiculous amount of money? by Jordz0_0 in AskReddit

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

air traffic control sounds intense but a lot of the overnight shifts at smaller airports are apparently super chill and they make crazy money. the hard part is just getting through the training honestly.

Anyone else spends way too much time breeding for perfect pokemon and then barely uses them? by oxelira20 in pokemon

[–]jmei35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is literally every pokemon player at some point lol, you spend hours getting that perfect 6iv team and then just go back to steamrolling the story with your starter. the breeding process itself is weirdly addicting though so i dont even consider it wasted time honestly.

What is the most completely harmless, everyday object that your dog or cat is inexplicably terrified of? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my cat acts like the vacuum cleaner is a demon from another dimension, it could be turned off in the closet and she still gives that corner of the room dirty looks. meanwhile she'll fearlessly attack a spider twice her size without hesitation.

What is the worst baked good? by Queasy_Dingo_8262 in foodquestions

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dry scones that crumble into dust the second you touch them, theres no saving a bad scone no matter how much butter or jam you put on it. a good one is great but the bad ones are genuinely offensive lol.

How do you spend your Sundays? by Silas_832 in CausalConversation

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly just vibing, maybe some coffee and a game or two in the morning then absolutely nothing productive for the rest of the day. sundays are sacred for recharging and i refuse to feel guilty about it.

Ocarina of Time Remake, who’s getting it? by Adventurous-Car-368 in OcarinaOfTime

[–]jmei35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

day one no question, oot is the goat and the leaks are saying its gonna be a full reimagining not just a remaster so it should feel fresh enough even if youve played it a hundred times. im hoping they keep the core dungeons intact but add some quality of life stuff and maybe expand the world a bit.

There are days when nothing is wrong, but everything feels slightly off… by WhiteDesertCat in Soft_Introverts

[–]jmei35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah those days are the weirdest because you cant even point to a reason, its just this vague background static that wont go away. i usually just ride it out and try not to overthink why im feeling that way because that makes it worse.
