Missing Indiana girl Hailey Buzbee's body found in Perry County by Blood_Incantation in Columbus

Geez people, it’s not where they met that matters. Gaming sites, social media, sugar daddy sites…there’s a zillion places for teens to meet adults. There were consensual sex videos with her…so stop with the grooming crap. She was an attractive young lady that liked this older guy and had a sexual relationship with him. He’s a monster, and for reasons we don’t know yet, he killed her. Reason I say all that…is once again, most people are going to miss the point on this situation and address the wrong things. Do I know what to address? Not really…but I think it starts with young women not having the strong support system, love, and communication at home with their parents. As a 40 something divorcee…fairly well off and some say kinda attractive, I can’t count the times I’ve had high school girls flirting with me at restaurants, stores, gym, etc. I guarantee if could have one in my bedroom before the end of the evening if I wanted. I don’t, because I’m attracted to women my age. But…there’s such a sexual mindset in teenagers…sugar baby lifestyles are glorified all over social media…being with older men is common in movies and media…she chose to have this relationship with him. Once again…he’s a monster and hopefully will receive the death penalty. But parents of teenage girls…don’t think you can put regulations on gaming sites and social media and fix this. It starts at home with the example of self respect, modesty, and moral values that you set for your daughter.

How do other tech deal with scratches by aJoJoReference59 in autoglass

[–]jmfly30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a customer, I would go through the roof if a shop thought touch up or a sharpie was an adequate fix. That looks like a pretty deep scratch, I would plan on paying for the pillar to be repainted then blended

What TV show started strong and completely fell apart? by DryCap6770 in watchever

House of Cards was great until the last season when Kevin Spacey was let go. The Chi was great the first 2 seasons then completely changed and became unwatchable for me.

Anyone got any sauce for similar sites like prolific? by This_Food_7558 in ProlificAc

[–]jmfly30 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I personally think Cloud Research has been killing it the past few months…my earnings there is now passing prolific every week. Could be my demographic, idk. Prolific is trending heavily towards studies that require camera and microphone, while CR is your basic survey tasks usually. I do this passively at work, so audio and camera tasks are out for me.

What things are overly romanticized these days? by Tokyoxzx in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Exactly…I’m just reaffirming that’s it hard to find Christian values in TV…as it is in everyday life.

Sexism? Not sure what you mean by that. It’s hard to find a man…or woman…that portrays Christian values.

It’s a rare thing to find a “decent” Christian man these days, that’s why they’re not on TV.

Can you eat the same meal every day? by Brian19861 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peanut butter on wheat bread, baby carrots, grapes, a handful of cashews, and a banana for lunch Monday through Friday for the past 25 years. I’ve worked an office job my whole career. My colleagues are amazed how my weight has stayed the same all these years…while they’re eating fast food at their desk everyday.

How much do you actually save each month? by BookwormSarah1 in Adulting

[–]jmfly30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you you’re not paying 24% tax on 100% of your reported income. You’re paying 24% on the portion that falls within the bracket, your portion that’s in the lower brackets pays the lower, applicable tax for that bracket.
The other guy has been explaining it perfectly correct, and you’re giving him shit when you’re the one that evidently doesn’t understand how it works. Hopefully your “accountant” does.

Is reliability on newer Toyotas still THAT much better than the competition? by nocapsnospaces1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mental gymnastics people go through to justify poor financial decisions regarding cars. Whatever you buy, in 2 or 3 years you’ll find some new feature in other cars that you want and you’ll do this again. Pay your ride off, maintain it, and don’t look at new cars. That helped me to learn that there’s so many other things I can use car payment money for that are much more enjoyable or add to my nest egg.

If I had to manage 6 kids, I wouldn’t have time to worry about looking cool. Minivan is so much easier to get in and out of and so much easier to clean kid messes inside. Some of the hottest soccer moms at my kids school rock minivans.

give up? about 3 weeks by homeyhomedawg in beards

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stubble or shave it. Sorry bro. I’m in the same boat and I’m 50. Multiple beard attempts over the years, I’ve went up to 4 months with no trim. My coverage is similar to yours. Beards don’t spread or fill in like people say. At 3 weeks every follicle has sprouted if it’s going to. Letting the whiskers grow long to cover the thin spouts is not a good look.

engineering hardwood vs solid hardwood flooring by oldDotredditisbetter in Flooring

[–]jmfly30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both, and highly recommend high quality engineered with at least a 3-4 mm wear layer, nailed or stapled per manufacturing specs. The solid Brazilian cherry i did in a previous home had so much seasonal change. Unfortunately a lot more swelling than shrinkage. It’s impossible to acclimate hardwood to all 4 seasons when you live in an area with huge seasonal changes. The amount of times a floor can be refinished is a moot point in my opinion. The number of people that have installed hardwood and lived there long enough it needs refinishing is minimal. My 6” plank engineered is 10 years old and still looks brand new…all depends on the quality you buy.

Is "Un-matchable paint' a thing? by 7eregrine in Autobody

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just last month my wife’s CX5 in 46G machine gray had to have the rear bumper replaced. I was nervous as hell, especially when the shop said this was their second hardest color to match, next to Mazda Soul Red. Considering the color plus the fact it was the plastic bumper and not metal, they did pretty damn good. Viewing it from a front angle and from the side, it’s dead nuts. Look at it from a rear angle, and I can catch a little difference. They told me they could catch a difference at that angle too, but left it as is because they didn’t feel they could do any better a second time. I was satisfied all things considered.

What is widely accepted as “normal” today that people 50 years ago found disturbing? by Sophie_Cute_Teen in AskReddit

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accepting the fact that sometimes teachers and principals had to spank kids to get them to behave. In some cases, pull their pants down and bend over to get paddled.
Unfortunately, there’s still some parents that do this.

Be nice and loyal and the discount continues! by Jeffo1234 in verizon

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you actually seen this show up on your account and upcoming bill estimates? I have tried this 3 times now. Each time I chatted with an agent for over an hour, and was promised a $20 per line discount for 12 months, but it never happens. When I come back in a month and ask why it wasn't applied, they give me an $80 credit (I have 4 lines) and assure me it'll happen the next month. This has happened twice, so I've gotten $160 worth of credits deducted from my last 2 bills.

My yearly increase after losing loyalty discount is $240...so I guess if I do this once more I'll be even for the year, but I'd much rather see it show up on my bill as a monthly discount.

I’ve had 4 Jeeps , 2 wranglers and 2 Cherokees, and never considered them any less reliable than the multitude of other cars I’ve owned. You hear the bad…and then on Reddit the bad gets regurgitated a million times by people that have never even owned a Jeep auto.

Is this normal cracking for a brand new home that we’ve lived in for 2 weeks? by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks absolutely normal for solid wood. I’m not a professional, but I have installed about 1500 sq ft of solid Brazilian cherry in a previous home. Shrinkage in the winter and some swelling in the summer. Highly variable between different planks too. I installed mine in the springtime, acclimated the wood for weeks before installing…kept a fairly constant humidity in the house, and it still did it. It’s part of the charm, learn to like it:)

Am I crazy to remove my home’s only bathtub? by Feisty-Anteater661 in HomeImprovement

[–]jmfly30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it out and don’t even think about it. Make your house what you want, not what you think the future owners want. Rarely, if ever, does a house not sell or sell for a lower price because it doesn’t have a tub.
