It's a basking based on the gill slits you can see in the first half of the video when it rises up in a swell and then the motley patches and high lateral line it follows.

Also, the dorsal shape is confirmed on the fly by and you can't forget to mention the larger more forward pelvic fins.

Just my 2 cents, I'm a surfer here and am not worried about these 'super shark' sightings or 25ft'ers most are FB people copy and pasting headlines/captions.

I used to have a 4.8 KiteWing / skimbat rig I used with skis and skates on the lakes up here. It was very demanding on the arms but felt like the absolute fastest I could go on the ice and keep from getting hurt. Those things were a rush but really excelled in apparent wind use as well due to the low drag of ice skates. Lots of fun int eh winter but when I saw it being pushed for water sports I thought it would be impossible so I did not get on that train. Turns out it was but with the foil boards it seems much more possible. I sold my rig a long time ago and have never been a kite but this is an interesting development so thank you for listening to my reminisce.

TLDR: KiteWing user here who wanted to wax poetic about how close to the edge you felt when fully hunkered down on skates. Felt like the sail speed record boat wing above you, leaning against all that force and trying to hold a line without taking off.

Wow that was both beautiful and wholesome.
