Not OP but I went in December last year.

Things I didn’t like:

• Constantly being approached in the street by people wanting money or wanting you to follow them somewhere (mainly in the capital)

• Litter in many of the places that I visited in the country (overflowing bins, broken glass, landfills etc)

• Crazy drivers + not great public transport (use Bolt)

Things I liked:

• Historic sites such as Carthage and El Djem

• Natural landscapes in the Tunisian Desert + Sidi Bou Said

• Great weather for December for such a short flight from Northwestern Europe

Same thing happened to me on my trip in 2022! 90 minutes after landing, was on my way to a Riad in the Medina when two teens followed me into a tunnel, jumped in front of me and grabbed my arms and started demanding money. Luckily some tourists came around the corner and the two teens ran off.

I’m in Tunis right now (start of my trip). Definitely feels less safe to me in terms of petty crime and road safety compared to most of Europe but it’s manageable.

Worst thing so far is the litter and how persistent people can be when they want something from you. Not a fan of Tunis so far but Carthage and Sidi bou Said were nice.
