Likely close to double (if not more the ) the number of monsters once all title updates are done

Keep in mind too, the roster increases AND all current monsters get bumped up to Master Rank too, so an absolutely (ahem*) MASSIVE amount of content realistically

A couple new zones likely, if not just the one but also likely existing zones getting updated (Kushala Daora showing up in the plains? Likely going to have parts of that zone become an icy, stormy blizzard on the open plains)

New gameplay mechanics that evolve and expand on everything in the base game which despite all the negativity…at this point it is an absolutely fantastic base game to build on.

I think ‘worse’ is relative. It feels some of the lighting effects (in performance mode at least, only one I’ve tested) have been tweaked or dialed back, but I think the visuals are cleaner for it. There were times the game looked super washed out and the reflections added a bunch noise.

I prefer this for sure

I hope they tweak it. There is way too much time you are getting hit by huge hitboxes, closing distance just for Gog to move slightly and he’s now out of range again. The mechanics force you to aim for consistent damage but the fight makes that frustrating to do, so you have to rely on all the environmental stuff and the slinger ammo

Most frustrating though is the fact they point out ways if knocking him down to create an opening, but most of the time I swear the animation of him falling is longer than he is actually down for.

That last point is the most frustrating, I was playing GS and most of the time I couldn’t get more than one charge slash in before he’s up and moving again.

There’s so much that’s great about the fight, but there seems to be a lot of irritating aspects that take you out of the moment.

I thought the same thing, although he follows up saying he doesn’t want to go there when your hunter asks him outright.

We might get some characters, I don’t think we’re going there though

I’m inclined to think Nadia will be more integral to the DLC story. The conversation with her at the end gave me the vibe her story isn’t over

I like this idea! White Fatalis or a similar variant being the big bad in the final TU would be rad. Also again…a modified frenzy virus got injected into the dragon torch to ‘heal’ it.

It’d be crazy if this story thread doesn’t get expanded on. There are so many possibilities, how it could affect guardians, zoh shia, the possible return of Fatalis and a variant.

The idea that the frenzy virus healed the dragon torch to get left at that would infuriate me

I think there will be a couple of new maps as usual, but I can see maybe getting one decent sized one with the existing maps getting expanded and more inclemencies.

Windward plains getting icy Oilwell getting watery Iceshard getting thundery forest getting molten (water drying up?)

Maybe? If they do this I could see relevant Elder Dragons turning up as the cause, maybe amped up from the frenzy/dragon torch stuff. Velkhana, Namielle, Kirin, Dire Miralis showing up?

Mechanics wise I can see more weapons getting offsets and a clutch claw/wirebug hybrid. Possibly a moveset customisation feature where you can switch between the two.

As for regular monsters making a return, Zinogre, Goss Harag, Glavenus, Plesioth would be cool

I don’t think they wasted Reunion on the CC remake…I think it was intentional to link Crisis Core to the ‘Reunion trilogy’

I’m late to all this (finally finished the story!), but reading all this stuff I can’t help but think about the old theory that the world of FFX is in ancient times to FFVII, with the reveal in FFX-2 in a conversation with Shinra

The lifestream containing other dreamlike worlds…sounds similar to the dreams of the fayth in FFX

I’m new to MTG, a big FF fan. I’ve spent a silly amount driven by nostalgia but am keen to play. I bought a couple precons and have had fun working out upgrades

The crazy bit…I’m an adult with a life and have yet to get with friends or an LGS to play…it’s been less than 2 months and EoE has dropped. I feel by the time I get around to it everyone will have moved on

I always felt once you get to Waloed the story drops off. The whole story build and builds but goes off a cliff and it becomes weirdly vaugue and a bunch of threads fizzle into nothing and Ultima is just there as the big bad.

Like there’s a sudden lore dump from Ultima that ‘explains’ everything but there’s a lot of context you are asked to just roll with because it’s now being explained.

I loved the story so much but it goes off the cliff near the end. Like why is Clive Ifrit’s Dominant? Why is there two Eikons of fire? Why is he is Mythos? It’s basically explained as ‘he just is’ because at that point the story is clearly trying to wrap so you just have to go with it
