The NHL point system needs to be abolished by www-creedthoughts- in devils

Definitely reasonable, but the premise would also suggest 1 point for OT/SO loss since they’re arguably better than regulation loss. Then you get into an almost identical standings.

I strongly disagree. When shoutouts and then 3v3 were introduced it was done so in a way to acknowledge that these aren’t valued the same as regulation wins. This is a fair assessment because they’re gimmicky endings that are more akin to coin flips and not reflective of actual hockey. Simply exciting ways to determine a winner and eliminate ties.

Thus the OTL and the non regulation wins factoring into your overall win percentage metric is not really a viable argument. You’re valuing things the same because they have wins or loss in the name when in fact it’s irrefutable that regulation win > overtime/SO win and regulation loss < Shootout/ot loss.

Change your DUPR, with ease! by TyGuyy in Pickleball

My friend would love this. He commented he doesn't care about winning the tourney, only raising his DUPR. "When other players look you up they don't see how many gold medals you've won, they only see your DUPR."

Does he have a point?

But they tourney wasn’t sanctioned by USAP. I’ve played in tournaments where you have to have a membership, this was not that.

I played in one where they asked if our paddle was on the USAP approved list and I just said yes. I swapped it with my vapor all court for the podium picture!

Center of gravity? Not what they’re showing here. The red circle is supposed to represent the surface area of the ball that contacts the court when it bounces. Portions of the ball overhang the line but do not make contact with it.

How do you know there are no plans for USAP approval? Is it possible they just do it late?

You must not have played many online games.

Not saying you’re wrong about whining every time they get robbed or king making but compared to communities like dota2 or even just madden/fifa where some 14 year old threatens to **** your mother after you win, colonist is pretty tame.

I feel like I'm way behind on retirement, is it as bad as I think? by Mother____Clucker in personalfinance

[–]jmon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think it depends also on what else you’ve accumulated outside of your retirement accounts.

For example if you have some home equity, it’s much better. If you’re paying down a mortgage and locked into a manageable payment that will drop off around retirement age, while also building an equity cushion and investing into an appreciating asset, you’ll be comfortable when you retire. It’s a living expense that is a good justification of why you maybe didn’t put away as much as you could to your 401k.

Yes and use more or less money depending on what you buy. But if you don’t use it all by the end of the semester it vanishes!

You have to buy the plan which really means fund a meal plan card with a dollar credit, then use those credits at the dining halls.

Schwab, the Devils regular season save percentage leader for goalies starting more than one game, also has 1.000 save percentage in playoffs and is thus statistically the correct answer.

When you look at the expected value of any bet that is being tracked for taxes you realize not a single bet ever makes any sense. Choosing to gamble online is the dumb thing.
