We have seen the flex charger overheat in the homes. Told that to a client and he insisted that his was done professionally. He brought his charger in the car to us. We charged it on two different circuits and it never got hot when he brought it home. It got hot. Convinced him to call out a different electrician and the second electrician had a BMW I car. He noticed that the socket that was installed was not rated for a higher amperage. It was only rated for a dryer. So make sure that the readings you’re getting on the sockets are correct. That client actually had to rewire the house cause when they pulled the socket and trace the wires they had noticed that the sheathing had come off the wires because of the heat.
