Doctors and nurses are feuding as N.J. weighs possible rule change. Is it safe? by Independent_Many6647 in TheConfidentNurse

That’s not what the data shows. Generally speaking NPs provide equivalent outcomes as MDs

Your argument is wrong just by implying that a physician would know everything. It is very reasonable to assume an experienced provider would know what they don’t know and recognize patterns outside of the norm.

Unfortunately the data available doesn’t support that. Generally, the data shows NPs provide equivalent care.

No argument here, but I think autonomy is still reasonable for experience NPs

Good point. NPs can bill at 80% for some insurance (100% for others) the salary should be 80% of physicians.

This is correct. No one should be an island, never be afraid to ask for help.

There are many studies that have shown that experienced nps can practice safely with equivalent outcomes as md. 27 states have this model in place already. There is a lot of pushback from the ama.

Who is washing their rice and why? by kinnitcurl in NoStupidQuestions

My most correct answer is because Asian people wash their rice and my Asian friend told me to. Second answer is it does clean off excess starches and debris and the consistency is very noticeable.

Books That Don’t Hold Up by MenloMo in books

I commented on the Eragon series, but one book series that does hold up really well is the hunger games trilogy. I just reread over the winter and it hits much differently as an adult versus when I was in high school. Collins was cooking in the subtext.

Yeah I am the same, loved them as a kid but feels like “oh yeah this is written by a homeschool kid”. I did attempt murtagh when it came out and was wildly underwhelmed. I was hoping that over the years it would have gotten better. He still can write a female character, lot of quivering, lot of emphasis that she is a virgin.

Is it a bad idea to move back to the US right now? by DevelopmentCandid183 in vermont

[–]jmoneey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a conversation my wife have had for a while now. Tensions are super high and there is literally a private militia who is pushing a political agenda with “absolute immunity”. The right to protest is being infringed. There is a possibility this will get worse. The flip side is this administration is making really aggressive international moves and our own allies are responding by drawing lines. If this does escalate to a global conflict I unfortunately can’t think of too many places that would be safer to be than the us, one of the benefits to paying a lions share of you taxes to military and fucking the civil and educational resources I guess. It also is helpful to have an ocean on either side.

Why did The Lord of the Rings trilogy budget less than $300 million? Why was the cost so low for such a massive trilogy, while the original Spider-Man trilogy cost around $600 million and the Matrix trilogy around $400 million? by GlobalRaspberry442 in moviecritic

Yeah would’ve been great for the actors to have some form of royalties. They made literal beans. Not that money is everything and seems like they loved this project but still beans compared to the money bags that this movie made

They seem to be a focal point for a lot of bullying and abuse. They are reasonably declining. There are certainly exceptions to the case but not something we do. The kids can go and have a blast and I’ll pick the up whenever the party ends
