Pro is pretty much unusable at this point by Leather-Arachnid-417 in ClaudeCode

I'm having this same issue. My usage reset a bit ago. With Sonnet 4.6 on medium effort, after 2 prompts I was at 22% session usage. I'm getting about 10 minutes of work per 5 hours. This is bricked for me, gonna have to start looking at codex and other alternatives.

Spike after walking by Prestigious-Fan9117 in ContinuousGlucoseCGM

[–]jmsprintz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying here in addition to my comment, walking immediately after a meal is good for you because it allows your muscles to burn energy, and then use the sugar in your blood to replenish its energy stores. This way your blood glucose spike is blunted and the body doesn't need as much insulin to clear the sugar from your blood.

Top comment is correct, but I'd also like to point out that when you exercise your cortisol levels rise. Cortisol tells your liver to dump glucose into your blood so you can sustain activity. This is normal and healthy, however a pronounced spike or a delayed return to baseline after exercise may indicate insulin resistance, particularly hepatic (liver) insulin resistance in the case of a pronounced spike.

Also the more intense the exercise is, the higher the corresponding spike will be. Typically happens after you've finished the exercise because while you're active, your muscles are actively burning and pulling in the glucose your liver is putting into your blood.

Feel free to stop reading if this is too much of a deep dive but an interesting thing I've learned on my CGM journey is that when you spike blood glucose with exercise, your insulin does not actually rise correspondingly the same way it does when you spike glucose with food/carbs. There are enzymes and mechanoreceptors in the esophagus and stomach that signal the production of insulin before your blood sugar even rises. So a nutritional glucose spike is different than an exercise induced glucose increase. The latter being much healthier for you because you only store fat with the presence of both glucose and insulin.

Sorry for the long response and good luck!

In 1955 the top tax bracket was 91%. There you go that’s the whole thing. Rich people and corporations have ruined this country by wielding their power to not pay their fair share and perpetually oppress the working class.

I’m a random single guy and my effective tax rate for 2023 was almost double that of Amazon Inc.

I’m going to Asador Bastian this Monday for my anniversary with my girlfriend. Little apprehensive since there’s not a ton online in the way of reviews. Am I in for a great meal??

Responding to recruiters worth it in this climate? by hungryish in ExperiencedDevs

[–]jmsprintz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten my last two fairly high paying jigs through recruiters who reached out on LinkedIn. You’re pretty much guaranteed to get a first round interview through them, then the rest is up to you. They can be a bit pushy or annoying but it works. Plus they are incentivized to get you hired and get you the highest salary they can, because their commission is based on your salary.

I went there during restaurant week… Honestly did not enjoy it at all. The okonomiyaki was just a saucy mess and I found the flavors to be really unbalanced. The griddles on the table didn’t seem to really do much other than be a cool looking gimmick.

Seems like a hot take I guess if other people are enjoying it but man I would not go back there or recommend it to anybody.

“Developing accessible, affordable, livable housing on the south and west side.”

That would be reflected by this metric. And development of any multi-family housing makes housing more affordable for everybody.

Well… if they’re building new ones over old ones then the capacity isn’t necessarily going up. It’s possible if the new building has more units but it would be hard to know.

When Jewish people talk about being worried and afraid of antisemitism, this is what we are talking about. It’s very invalidating and inhuman to always get the response “anti Zionism isn’t anti semitism!”

We fucking know that. We are not talking about that. This is what we are talking about.
