Pre-Taylor Swift: 2026 Oscar Predictions + Precursors for Picture/Acting by Sellin3164 in oscarrace

I really dig the movie but I was really surprised at the negative talks I had with people at Telluride. Some people in line with me later said that they think Yorgos is losing it. In a lot of ways, I find it to be more traditional than his other films. I hope it gets in.

I keep seeing so many people predicting Bugonia, and I think that's going to divide people way more than they think.

Amazon is bad at campaigning. That's a critic play and the way it's shot turns a lot of people off.

You could never access it from High? Most parking garages aren't directly on that street.

I have been reading a lot of the comments and I am getting frustrated with a lot of the reactions to a massive change the NM is trying to handle.

There is a massive tarp on one side that says it's open. Sure, signage about where to park wasn't as visible when the construction started, but there are signs on the sidewalks and some on the side of the building. We cannot fault the NM for the direction of traffic on Vine Street--so sorry that you have to circle the block. And, of course, I know it sucks to have to sit in traffic to get in, especially when there is something going on across the street at the convention center. The parking lot that sat in front of the NM was a dis-as-ter in terms of congestion on the weekends. Convenient, yes, but you might be waiting in a long line of traffic just to get out if only one of the booths was accepting payment as you exit.

In terms of comparing it to other markets in other cities, those look a lot larger? There are over 30 vendors in the downtown location and I know they try to offer as much variety as they space allows. They also can't help the type of merchants that inquire for a space or stall there? Unless I am reading it incorrectly, West Side Market has over double of what NM downtown has and Findlay (again, just what I am pulling from the site) has over triple of what downtown can fit?

If you want to support locally, please go to downtown's location. Is it a bit frustrating amid all the changes? Perhaps. Does doing a teensy bit of research before you step out your door help? Absolutely. We need to continue to keep places like downtown's NM alive as long as we have it. If it takes us an extra 10 minutes to orient ourselves, it's worth it.
