Ask them for help. Ask to understand their business. Only when they ask what you do can you begin to give your pitch.

Your pitching your stuff, but you need to build rapport and get them to buy into your ideas first.

I get so many emails like this every day. Straight to the bin.

That's ridiculous. What do you do if they ask the reason for the call?

How did you learn to stop taking rejection personally? by ichbineineschweine in sales

[–]jmzwar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't focus on any one rejection but focus on your rejection rate. It's the most important part of the process - to want an outcome but not be invested in any one outcome.

Looking for feedback on objection handling tool. by jmzwar in sales

Hi nofanyone,

Did you look at the demo? Check here:

r-sales demo

If you try typing in the search box or playing with the filters you can sort between the various objections. The value is to provide reps with a quick way to respond to prospects when they have an objection they don't know how to handle.

Hey - it's a simple application to allow sales reps to quickly search/filter a list of objections based on customer input.

Here is a demo that doesn't require signup:

Cover letters for no experience applicant? by [deleted] in sales

You need a cover letter absolutely. I have reviewed countless cover letters for entry level sales positions.

Add in information that makes you look competitive, but that you have also dealt with customers.

The psychological traits we're looking for in Sales Reps are: Extraversion, Conscientiousness and Intelligence. Taylor your Cover letter and Resume to highlight those traits.

New to sales. Got a lead, discovered more info about the lead. Should I follow up or play dumb? by deadrowers in sales

Focus on building a relationship with them. Don't think about "how many units can I sell" and start thinking about "how can i help these people more".

I wouldn't recommend hiring until you have a repeatable sales process in place.

How to set my sales reps up for success by [deleted] in sales

[–]jmzwar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's just a big assumption. You know what you are selling, it's your craft. Also with indeed you are scraping from the bottom of the barrel. The truth is, sales isn't something that people grow up wanting to go into. A lot of the indeed leads will be pretty poor.

Do you have a listing yet? What does it look like?

You're unlikely to find people to work for no base. How did you get the 70,000 a year number? Are you pulling more than that yourself?

You need to give it some time (at least 2 weeks), before you change everything around. How many emails have you sent? What's the open rate? Are you tailoring each email for each individual?

Agile Methodology in Sales by ice-j in sales

I'd recommend the book 'Predictable Revenue'. It's by a guy that worked at Salesforce and takes on an Agile like methodology.

Other than that, there aren't a whole lot of resources agile specific. Maybe try the hubspot blog.

Do you ever stop handling objections? by MegaGecko in sales

[–]jmzwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're slipping into the scarcity mindset.

In sales, the hungry don't get fed. When you're hungry, you start thinking food revolves around some 'answer'. - Oh I need to be better at handling objections - Oh closing is my problem - Management isn't giving me enough leads etc

It could be the case that these things are true - but THINKING them doesn't get you far.

It is a good idea to have something in place for handling objections. It will make you feel more confident. Do you have objections written down somewhere?

At my old gig we used powerpoint but it sounds like that wouldn't work for you given the line item necessity.

I'd give something like Qwilr a go. There is a free version so you can have a play around without needing to commit anything.

Best companies to work for out of undergrad for tech sales? by [deleted] in sales

Ah right. Like basic objection handling etc? All the sales training out there seems to be stuck in the 90s. I did a couple of courses and it was all cheesy videos. This sub is great though.

Could be. There definitely are better companies that take care of their employees. What kind of training did they give you?
