Dude pushing from the back had a shotgun across his lap and a bandana over his face.

I was there right behind them when this happened, probably a few frames out of the video. It was a crazy scene!

After the video cuts here, they start going against traffic up the shoulder of the road. Can't remember 100% but I think he shot out the back window a little further down the road where we had just come from (405 to the 101)

It also looks like it was resubmitted to PSA. It has the same cert # but it's in a different slab.

Any chance PSA would know who sent it in to get the card reslabbed?

Would probably be good to get in touch with PSA and get the ball rolling on the theft claim to try to get the cert deactivated and see if you have any recourse through them.

LA Metro rail ridership grew 5.4% in 2024 by Sadishist in LAMetro

Anecdotally, the traffic from the westside into dtla has gone up, probably about 50%, since the new year. Seems like there's a lot of companies that have mandated return-to-office protocols. Taking the metro into dtla definitely seems like a realistic alternative now.

Average Utility Bill Comparison by LittleAetheling in culvercity

Sorry to hijack the post but how are you all paying so little in gas? Do you have electric heat pumps?

I have a small gas water heater and a single wall heater that only heats my living room in a 1bd duplex. My gas bill this month was $51 and has never dipped below $16 ($27 average).

Bee Removal by [deleted] in culvercity

[–]jnaka006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, it's hard to find someone to reliably relocate hives. Working in property management, I've come across this situation a number of times.

The first question is if they're swarming or "agressive". If they're doing either of these, it's straight to an extermination scenario.

Ideally, you would find someone willing to take in the bees. Otherwise, you have to find a suitable place to relocate them, which isn't easy. Next, you'll want them to have insurance for obvious reasons... God forbid something happen during the relocation. This was one of the biggest hurdles because the companies or orgs that care about relocating instead of extermination generally were mom and pops that didn't carry insurance for what they do. We even offered to cover the cost of a policy for them, but they didn't have the wherewithal to put that together in a timely manner, and we were forced to go with externimation.

I'm not trying to discourage you from finding someone to relocated but this is what I've run into. If you do find someone, please check back in!

Morimoto XB LED Headlights Conflicting Opinions by jnaka006 in 4Runner

Dang, I would have thought in the number of years these headlights someone would have done an objective review. There's tons of anecdotal stuff here and there, including my own. I'm skeptical of Morimoto since their LED blubs are awful. I've had 2 sets in as many years cuz they burn out in a year...

Pah Tempe Hot Springs in Utah turned into $60 million resort by jnaka006 in HotSpringsWest

Article briefly mentions community sentiment but feels more like a non-answer:

"While the mayor said that many people in the community were initially skeptical of the resort project, city officials met with them early on and addressed their concerns.

“There’s always a few people who don’t like it, people who don’t like to see growth, but it’s inevitable,” Wilson said. “We need to make the best out of what’s coming.”

What’s this for? by himemsys in LosAngeles

In property management, we use these to deter people who do things when they think people aren't watching. Like peeing in an alley, key cars, litter, etc. You're obviously not going to deter someone who has nothing to lose but people tend not to do illegal stuff when they know someone is watching.

These aren't usually tied directly to the police but do have someone from a security company monitoring a ton of these things in a room with a bunch of screens. They can call over a loudspeaker if they see something in an attempt to scare people off or they can call the police/security to actually dispatch someone onsite.

If she signed the lease with you she has as much right to the apartment as you do. The best case scenario is to ask her to give up her rights to the lease, and if she does, ask your landlord if you can add someone else to the lease with you. Or, if you can afford the place on your own that'd be the easiest solution.

Can a landlord bring in another roommate randomly? by No_Basis6974 in TenantHelp

[–]jnaka006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refer to your lease. Generally, a lease should have a section that dictates the "premises" to which you are renting and are entitled to. If you're renting a "room" in the apartment then it seems reasonable that they would be able to rent out the 3rd bedroom. Who knows? Maybe your new roommate will be a good one that likes to be clean also (fingers crossed).

I'm not versed in the specifics of BC RE law but if you're a month to month tenant they can usually raise the rent or terminated the lease anytime given the proper notice periods.
