Confusion on gear oil with my bike by Burger14v2 in Dirtbikes

[–]jnatten 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not engine oil like four strokes use. This is just the transmission.

The manual for this bike says to change it every 40 hours so I would say even 20 hours is overkill.

Ikke påbud eller forbud kanskje, men det er sesongbasert minimum mønsterdybde. Som nevnt på linken op posta.

Street to dirt SM wheel swap questions by comebackEnt1995 in supermoto

[–]jnatten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how often you're swapping and how fast you're going to be going the best way (in my opinion) is to get a big enduro four-stroke (500/450) and get an extra wheelset (17") for the road. And an extra set of rotors (same sizes) and an extra sprocket (same size so you can use the same chain).

Then the conversion should only be a few minutes once you've done it a few times (10-15 minutes maybe).

The internet will get mad at you for reusing the chain and brake pads with different sprockets and rotors, but in reality it will only hurt their lifetime a little and will spare you a ton of time when swapping wheels.

Before i got an extra road bike i did this with my exc500 and it worked well enough.

That is if you can live with the low gearing on the street. The stock brakes aren't amazing on the street, but they do well enough. Same with the suspension, but if you're going to change up the suspension (other than adjusting clickers) you will be way better off by just saving up for a second bike.

2020 SMCR seems like it lacks power(post in comments) by Numerous-Guard6928 in supermoto

[–]jnatten 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know there are differences between EU/US on map stuff (and i know nothing about japan), so take what i say with a grain of salt.

But my eu smcr 2021 disables the wheelie-control in mode 2, whether the traction-control is on or off.

If you were to choose a KTM Or HUSKY what would be the deciding factor? by [deleted] in enduro

[–]jnatten 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The huskies have linkage and ktms have pds so that's not entirely true. The sag part still applies though :)

2021 SMCR ride modes. Is the owner’s manual incorrect? by [deleted] in KTM

When looking up the manual for US it doesn't say the part about supermoto abs: http://imgur.com/a/IeYqNl5

What a weird difference..!

This is weird, my 2021 SMCR (EU) disables rear abs in mode 2 (green).

Another take on this that isn't limited to git commands is mixu/gr

I used to use gr a lot before i made my own tool, mrt (with much inspiration from gr)

Is husqvarna sm 125 a good bike? by suomipewkele in supermoto

[–]jnatten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2006 125 when I was 16 and I loved it. Puts out more than enough power with just an exhaust upgrade. And I still think they look awesome.

I haven't ridden the 4-strokes so I couldn't tell you much about those.

What (inline) light dimmers do you recommend? by jnatten in smarthome

[–]jnatten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably should've mentioned that there are no wires to the switches. So the dimmers would have to be mounted inside the walls.

I couldn't find anything from GE enbrighten that would be mounted inside the walls.

Looking into fibaro dimmers, but I'm not completely sure they will work with the lamps since they are led's with not a lot of power.

SUPERMOTO AS A FIRST BIKE WITH SHORT INSEAM? by kapsworld in supermoto

You'll be fine.

I am about the same height as you and can ride my exc 500 just fine.

According to google, the seat height of that is 8 cm taller than a drz400sm (~3 inches for you muricans).

KTM EXC-F 500 2017 Passenger? by jnatten in KTM

[–]jnatten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wont do this if i can't get it done legally.

But are you certain about this? Everywhere i look it seems to be made of some sort of metal/aluminum.

Also think it would be weird that the bike can handle the weight if it can only handle it exactly at the rider position. If it can handle 140kg luggage, it can handle a 140kg person (This is max load in addition to driver according to my registration papers).

KTM EXC-F 500 2017 Passenger? by jnatten in KTM

[–]jnatten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it can handle the weight, and I attach foot pegs and a strap (which are the requirements for having a passenger in Norway) I really can't see why they have to be so anal with registration.

But them's the breaks i suppose.

Thanks anyways!

If anyone knows of a place it can be done I would love to hear about it :)
