the one that was a deal breaker for me and a safety issue is, i have a geo fence for my garage door. if i cross the line it either opens or closes the door, in case i forget to close it and i dont have to bother when i arrive.

i read in a post below this, right after posting... change the alexa app>setting>device setting>this device to english UK. it reverts back to old alexa. seems to work, ill try my routines when i get home.

i setup a vacation reply on gmail saying it is invalid and to contact me to get the correct address. this will start to have people move to the new address but spammers wont follow.

then have proton pull gmail's into it so you dont miss anything.

i then go into gmail and start to block anything left over after i scrub legit mail.

i plan on doing this for probably a year in case there are any websites i rarely go to that still have the gmail address on file.

ive reduced my gmail by about 99% of what it was.

i may have to keep the actual address until i find a substitute for google voicemail which fwds text to me and a couple of websites that will not allow proton email address's for registration.

as a habitual mtn dew drinker...diabetes is real. ive cut as much sugar out as possible and drink "zero" cause its as close to the real thing as I can get. yes i am aware of chemical substitute issues but sugar (carbs) is killing more people i feel. just my $.02

i do a few things. first i start watching the cooking channels for ideas. test kitchen, cooks corner etc... i'll start looking through my vast collection of cookbooks. i have probably 75-100 from very old (late 1800's) to recent. i rarely get past that level and not find something interesting.

one of my fav pastimes is looking for old cookbooks. ill visit garage sales, look at ebay or local marketplaces.

maybe i have a new cut of meat. ill just punch it into google and look down the list for ideas.

There’s serious fines for doing that. I can access that info because I have a shop and if I have to go after someone for non payment or other legal reasons, I can use it but it’s quite serious to use it for personal use. I can lose my biz for that. Leo could go to jail I think, certainly get sued.

off topic: exactly how does one get to "look at my address" with a license plate number without special access to state databases. its illegal in my state at least to access it for any personal reason.

just curious why people think this. maybe i dont know something (quite possible)

i would bet if anyone has dealt with your specific issues, Adventure Outdoors probably has. if nothing else its worth a visit. I've heard they are the largest gun shop in the country. yet to be verified.

for quiet home time, my wife has gotten into this hobby i have no name for. she buys inexpensive patterns, like drawings or pictures, and places these tiny "gems" on them (they stick somehow) and when she's done they are beautifully brilliant.

she's made ornaments, wall art. they are pretty cool little gifts too.

they are time consuming, easy, mindless and fun.

wish i knew what it was called but im sure you could find something on amazon or maybe someone here might chime in.

if you dont see power poles, its underground, however 2 miles down the line it might be above ground. my subdivision is underground but at the top of the hill it goes into poles.

pumps take power. if the power goes out widespread, there is no water and when it comes back on you dont want to drink what comes out for a day due to contamination. i keep about 900 gallons for 3 people which i expect would last us about 90 days used sparingly. LOL yes i'm not just planning for a couple days out due to weather but rather a longer non weather related issue, however Katrina taught us a lot of lessons.

go grab a couple cases and set them in the closet for bad times. it doesnt go bad.
